Please post a comment when you vote so that we know the Poll has not been hijacked by non GCs.

The question itself is stupid. I can not vote on a stupid question. Of course I am a Monglolian and not Greek, no question about this.

There was not a proper referendum back in the 1960s to examine the real will of people . The choice was between either Enosis or British Rule. This choice was misleading as it had ommited the option of Independence this was another legitimate option that was left out.

If there is a referendum today how many Cypriots will choose to become a part of Greece ?

After the "internal " propaganta that Greece , as land, as country, as population, was the reason for the Turkish invasion maybe no one.

But in 50's , do not play with us. the British occupation was , for that time, much better, at least financially, as you consider your World, than Union with Greece.

Do not try to consider Greeks of Cyprus stupits they know what they are doing, always they know, in 50's in 60's and today. But always they remain Greeks. Just give them the power to decide freely and then you will discover the Mani and Sparta in the Island.

Before the new scholl books of history be published you have already convisted - imagine what will happen to you after 10 years. Allah be with you

But I hear so much about whether we are Greeks or not that I would sincerely like to know where forumers stand on this point.

Do you regard yourselves as Greek or not? I am not talking about being a Cypriot, we are all obviously Cypriots; my question is do you regard yourselves as Greek in addition to Cypriot. Yes or No?

Thank you in advance.

With all due respect, Simon, the logical underpinning of this poll is tenuous. Since you are calling out to all Greek Cypriots, I think its safe to assume that anyone who votes considers himself a Greek Cypriot to some extent whether or not he wants to admit it.

Correct, the proper question should be " are the Turkish Cypriots Greeks?"

GREEKS ARE THOSE WHO SHARE A COMMON LANGUAGE AND CULTURE RATHER THAN THOSE WHO SHARE A COMMON BLOOD-LINE.

In Greek, there is only one word: Ellinas. Both Greeks and Cypriots are Ellines

What's the difference between Ellines and Elladites? Does it lie in repulsewarrior's quote: "Hellenism is one thing, being a "Greek" is another"?

Elladites (Elladitissa) is a Greek person living in Greece ( rather than those who live abroad ... especially in Cyprus!).
