Kretschmer: Greeks may Veto Trade with North

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It may not be 'that easy', but withdrawing Invading Troops, and Demographically altering settlers is a start.

Why did we keep talking about possible solution scenarios then?

I wouldn't mind something different than RoC if it is not worst than RoC. However if we do not agree on something different (it seems we will not) then the only legal thing that remains is RoC because it is the only thing we signed. (everything else is just theories that come and go like the Annan plan)

How many TCs live in in GC homes? Those TCs can return to their homes, they can buy the property from the GC owner, or they can buy another home nearby or anywhere else in Cyprus.

I don't see any problem to this, except of course if the TC in question got a lot more than he left behind. In this case he should be happy that for 30 years he controlled more than he owned and he doesn't have to pay any rent for it.

How do you know that TCs wouldn't have doubled or tripled the amount of the property belongs to him/her in the last 30 and even 40 years? Because of the unjust embargos and the inter-communal violence overwhelming majority of TCs have a huge income and property development loss. You think that the only responsible of the losses of TCs is themselves and Turkey and TCs should compensate ownselves. Even this mentality is sufficient to kill any solution proposal.

Most TCs in the Kyrenia seem to live in ex-GC land. There's not very much Turkish land there.

Settlers? All of them bar a handful live on ex-GC land

British: Apparently upwards of 7,000 own properties - mostly on ex-GC land

He means land that belonged to a Greek Cypriot before 1974.

Sometimes, they moved into homes, sometimes they knocked down the old home and built a new one, sometimes, it was just a land, so they built their own house...it's a mix.
