Re-naming our villages and claiming them as your own is just part of the repetitive manner in which Turks operate.
Just a little lesson on this stealing the "ethnicity" of Coffee ....
This is how Turks attempt to distort history.... the invader mentality again.
Coffee bean origins are in Ethiopia (cultivated since about A.D. 800). The Turks were still in Mongolia then. It was drunk in Africa and moved to Egypt (1000-1400 A.D.) It spread throughout the Arab world despite the Ottomans and not because of the Ottomans. It was not taken outside Africa or Arabia until the 1600s by an Indian pilgrim-cum-smuggler who left Mecca with fertile seeds. As invading nomads … they did not contribute to any agricultural factors.
Coffee was in fact banned by the Ottomans. The Arab word diffused through the prevailing peoples as the word in Arabic: قهوة, qahweh ... which became caffe then coffee
Finally a merchant of Venice introduced Europe to coffee in 1615. By this time the Ottomans were also drinking coffee but the rise of coffee-drinking culture was in spite of the Ottomans and not because of them.
