In Limassol , I change my STG at a small -used to be supermarket but no more - shop and the rate I got on July 28th was 1.235 to the pound.
If you come out of the Municipal gardens the sea front exit turn right pass the petrol station and 20 metres away you see the Board displaying currency rates . The Exchange shop is on the right turning.

Whatever you do NEVER NEVER change your money in the UK , they are the most expensive con artists in Europe. At the airports they are giving 1.19 to the £ and want 1.42 if changing back to stg. In big letters they announce NO COMMISION . Bloody crooks !!
The entire UK banking institutions are highly geared in screwing the public as much as they can get away with .
ps. Anyone wanting to change from Euros to STG I Offer £ = EURO 1.30 right here in the UK .PM me for details.

If you are buying euros in the uk, try Thomson travel shops, they have a price match/beat service and can sometimes give you a better rate.
