Since returning from Cyprus, I have been fascinated by the Cypriot counselling systems regarding post 1974 and what services are available for Cypriots. My ambition in life is for when my kids get older (they are nearly 21 and nearly 22  ), I will be able to come back to Cyprus and work in the counselling field however worry about the language difference. I know how to speak greek, however would not know the correct terminology. It is good to dream  :o

You can pick it up . Probably the terminolgy is all based on the Greek language anyway. Most of your clients would be English speaking anyway. In the meantime you can go to Greek classes with your grandchildren.

grandchildren???? they may arrive by immaculate conception... the nearly 21 year old is too busy trying to save and travel (cyprus being the first destination) and the nearly 22 year old... well he is playing the field (with protection!!!!!! ). No grandkids here!

You are safe now tess. No guns in the north to threaten you. I often wonder how I would react under similar circumstances (bank robbery)

We are programmed to react as "fight or flight" but you can do neither with a gun aimed at you, it was scary, but I wasn't as badly affected as some of my co-workers (hence my venture into PTS counselling). I have counselled people that have been very badly treated and physically hurt. But don't worry - I feel very safe here!!!

So are you required to hold formal qualification (a degree in counselling) to work in cyprus?

Originally a travel agent, I worked for the Metropolitan Police for a few years before moving here, wanting a fresh challenge I'm now back in the Travel Industry promoting a destination that I now call home.
