Enlightening fact regarding the overseas TCs. I thought they would be like GCs of UK who are mostly leftist.
We have a problem and seeing a few months down the road the problem will make itself clearer as we try to define who votes in the upcoming referendum.
Unfortunately Iceman is correct about the TCs in the diaspora,Nikitas...
Most are stuck with the mentality they had when they left Cyprus ( largely 60s and 70s) or what they have been told by their parents...
What I find sad is that those GCs who are aware of the settler problem want to use it politically to pressure the TCs to ask Turkey to leave...(Time is working against you...your culture ,identity will be wiped out if you dont remove the settlers asap!! kind of mentality)....The truth is given the circumstances there is little the TCs (those still remaining in Cyprus) can do about Turkey's presence...Not because they love the Turks but because they fear the GCs more...So ironic that the only people who can help TCs survive are the GCs...But they are more interested in revenge (serves you right!!!type of revenge) then making an effort to truly comprehend the distress and helplessness of their compatriots in the North...Given the famous Cypriot pride the TCs would rather die than ask for help from the GCs,and that is what is happening...They are dying a slow death...
Even the whale calf stranded in Sydney harbour this week had more humanity shown him...He was put down mercifully to stop him from starving to death..
Yes Bir, I understand and appreciate what you are saying! However, the above facts do not stop the diachronic TC leadership, including that of Talat, to place unacceptable and illegitimate demands on the solution table, in order to keep in this way the Cyprus issue unresolved. Is this attitude, also part of the TC pride?
