Is there a distinct Turkish Cypriot culture?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes the Turks love us all so much.

That is why they want to emulate and strangle us with their affection.

The transformation of the Turk ... from Mongol, to Ottoman, to Turks, to TC, to "European" ... they are masters of mimicry ... they suck the life-blood of all around them. "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"! :P

How come we are not living together in harmony?

cheers
Andreas

halil, thank you for your honesty,
yes I take responsibility for that. I do appreciate your effort to meet with me and yes I said no, perhaps I should have but I didn't, if I knew more of your personal beliefs it would have been different.

I am always willing to meet with TC's who share similar aspirations for a united Cyprus and I showed that by spening time with Birkibrisli when we were both in Cyprus and I would be happy to meet him and others who share similar vallues again.

cheers

Andreas ,
it is a normal to have different ideas or views as long as we except eachother as a humanbeings and try to find solution for our problems .there is no problem .
problem is if we don't talk and listen to eachother how we can conclude for someting .
as i always saying drum sound comes nice from far away . if it is true come and see the drum and feel it .

The saddest manifestation of this disappearing TC culture was Zan's post about his self consciousness and embarassment of his TC accent IN NICOSIA!

Its obviously both ends of the stick are shitty but unless the GC end is cleaned the Turks will always be preferred their track record is more realiable.

I thought the whole idea behind 1974 was to give the TCs a place where they would be their own masters. Apparently not!

Correct who we share this with is our business what you should be worried about is that the mindset of the people on the other side of the table is gradually changing and in tiime they will have had no real sympathetic link to GCs and negotiating will get mmuch tougher, can you imagine a TC leader whos more Turkish than Cypriot and doesnt give a fuck about GCs and what their demands with which older TCs can sympathise with.

Then this more Turkish than TC chap will find himself talking with a mainland Greek, since what can happen on one side can happen on the other. Two NATO countries divvying up an island with the blessings of their master and with sympathizers, like VP, clapping.

There would be nothing wrong with that picture if it was not accompanied by bullshit that it was done for the TCs or the GCs etc.
