The Isles of Britain .....

I love Island holidays.

We know Greece has thousands.

But Britain is not short of a few characterful Isles. Some are famous for bird-watching or sailing or seal-spotting etc.

Which are your favourites and worthy of a visit? :D

Unfortunately I haven't visited any of the British Isles other than Anglesey (if you count that) and the Isle of wight when I was about 10 years old.

Would love to visit the Scottish Islands but never seem to have the time or inclination to spend so long in the car (or the money for the petrol these days).

The Isle of Mull is a great favourite ..... Shortbread biscuit-tin picturesque .... with proper ginger Highland Cattle round every curve of a mountain.

We always seem to end up there camping, drawn by its captivating atmosphere ........ (I have a ghost encounter from there, but I'll leave it for that other thread  ).

Tobermory is so colourful and you can catch boats from there to spot whales, seals, sharks and porpoises. Although you are mostly just guaranteed to see the huge salmon fisheries.

Agreed Feisty. Anglesey is brill. Great, empty beaches. Spent a couple of hols on the Isle of Wight as well - some lovely resorts there.
