Palestinian youth shot at point blank after arrest.

The above clip published by a Human Rights Group of Israel, shows a Palestinian youth being shot by a rubber bullet after being arrested. The article in a Turkish Daily (Hurriyet) states that after the shooting the youth was further tortured.

As they say in Turkish, "Medeniyet dedigin, tek disi kalmis canavar".

Translated as,"what YOU call civilisation is a one toothed (metaphor for ugly) monster".

We must be thankful for the USA for supporting such actions!!

Reminiscent of the 'arm breaking exercise' by Israeli soldiers of another Palestinian youth, years ago.

I saw the video of the boy (Canadian) arrested and sent to Guantanomo bay when 15 yrs old. He was in a terrible state, so the above news does not surprise me at all - shock? Yes! But surprise? NO! Not any more. One rule for them and another for everyone else. In an "equal" world it is certainly true that some are more "equal" than others, especially when it comes to torture, arrests without charge and imprisonment without access to lawyers.

Do you ever get scared, that you will one day, be so bombarded with news like this that it will not register within you as an atrocity, but as a "norm" of our life/world as it is now? I don't want to be used to it Deniz, I really don't..............

Oh no, YOU don't have anything to be sorry about, I was referring to, and be-moaning the world in general.

It was on the news here yesterday about Bush denying that torture tactics were used in the USA but then went on to say that they did not consider it torture, and furthermore refused to outlaw the practice, of pouring water over someone wearing a hood with such pressure that they thought they were drowning.
Despicable.

If bush says so, then it definitely is not torture. I'd like to see him enjoying the same.
