PRESIDENT TALAT: “WE WANT TO UNITE WITH THE WORLD”

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

TC's speaking on behalf of the 'TRNC' sometimes like to liken their pseudo-state to Kosovo in order to give it substance and recognition.

The 'TRNC' is not like Kosovo at all. Kosovo was always a region of it's own, just like Montenegro.

The 'TRNC' is more like 'Republika Srpska'. They're both products of ethnic cleansing and are clearly 'Bantustan states', ie apartheid-style ethnic homelands created illegally.

The world will never recognise you and we will never unite with you in the shape of 'TRNC'. We will however happily embrace you as Cypriots in a reunited Cyprus under the RoC flag and you will enjoy the same rights as anybody else in the EU.

There are many TCs who are thinking on those lines, as the latest demos against Erdogan shows. Northern Police stopped demos and banners of anti Turkey anti Turkish army over the weekend. This coincided with the visit of Erdogan (I think) to celebrate the fateful anniversary.
