discussion of the difference between mainland turks and 'us'

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby turkkan » Sat May 07, 2005 11:07 am

' This was written by a TC just 2 years ago! Specially dedicated the settler called turkkan who pretends he doesn’t know '

Oh that was real clever mic,'who pretends he dosent know'. You really got me there. The thing is, i might pretend not to know, but you honey pretend to know. As for what that turkish cypriot wrote, to you anyone who writes anything against turkey or the TRNC or a settler seems to be an authority on the subject (note here she mentioned 'a turkish cypriot wrote', no name, no status nothing, just a turkish cypriot). If you even sat down to think logically about it,the thought that there is a group of people who you cant speak to because they stab you should have occured to you as something a bit far fetched. Just like piks claims the day after september 11th, that bin laden was hiding in the north. At one point your blabbering stops becoming amusing and gets pathetic.

You are wrong brother we are same because our ancestors came from turkey and my village we did find our relatieves  How about we talk same langues. It is not 30 years before that and if we have educated people today (like Talat) thank TURKEY for that, they pay for it.

T/C are aware of their cultural components. They are as much Turkish as they are Cypriots. They can understand Turkey and Turkish people very well. The funny thing is T/C dont share many typical characteristics of Turkish society. We T/C are very easy-going, pragmatical, negotiatable, warm-blooded mediterranean people while people from Turkey are stubborn, proud, one-track-minded, unnegotiatable and fighting people. If you try to discuss a matter with a Turk from mainland you have to take into account that you might end up being physically attacked or being stabbed!!! Cypriots generally dislike this behaviour and almost 28 years living with the settlers here we learned to keep them out of our private lives. In public everybody tends to treat settlers equally (also because Cypriots avoid being rude to anybodys face) but when it comes to families visiting each other for a coffee and chat we tend to select our friends from Cypriots. (This is also natural as Turks have different culture and tates- they prefer to drink their funny Turkish tea to our lovely coffee for one thing!!!)

THIS IS THE TRUTH WETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, BUT THE ONLY TC I CAN IMAGINE WHO WOULD NOT AGREE WITH IT WOULD BE THE ONE MARRIED TO A MAINLAND TURK, THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE AN INSULT

There's no need to overgeneralize the characteristics of Turks by condemning Turks with what a small minority of people has done. First of all the Turks of Turkey have various ethnic origins. A small minority of psychopats, fanatics, extremists, fascists, mentaly disordered and illiterate people don't represent the Turks of Turkey. If you want to see the truth about incidence of crime rate of Turkey; just check the reliable statistics. You'll see that Turkey with its huge population, econimical level and enemies around her is better than many "civilized", small European countries. But if you want to judge Turkey and Turks with your prejudiced mind, then keep doing it. This cannot change the truths about the Turks of Turkey.

This has nothing to do with being married to a mainland Turk or anything else.

WHat a load of horseshit. That is the biggest insult I have encountered on this forum yet and it dosent come from a greek but it comes from you.
your attitude is quite sickening, please refrain from speaking onbehalf of all your ethnic group, you have no right to do so. THe only difference between a settler and me is that we arrived 500 years ago and they arrived a couple of years ago.

uzan, oh he is a turkish cypriot alright, only we have this group of leftist fools in our society, you should read their paper in england, toplum postasi, its as if its the mouthpiece of the greek cypriot administration in england(and it is, most of the articles are copy pasted from the cyprus news agency). Im sure brother really beleives what he is saying though. THe greeks should be proud of him, he tries at every attempt to prove his sincereity to them and side with them. Never a bad word.

The main difference as far as we are concerned is that you are Turkish Cypriot and therefore you can be a Cyprus citizen, and the others that arrived after 1974 are Turkish citizens and they should go back to their country.

Everybody can have his own beliefs. What is indisputable is who is citizen and who is not.
