CHRISTOFIAS VISION OF NEW CYPRUS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

First of all though, I was only 11 when the intercommunal strife started and you are hardly in a position to blame my generation. However, if you really need to blame a generation you can go ahead and blame the generation of Papadopoulos, Lissarides, Yiorgadjis who were the warlords at the time, all sporting private armies that had a permanent order. Kill as many Turkish Cypriots as you can for they are preventing the union of Cyprus with our motherland.

Then. I suppose that if you were a German skinhead (nationalist) you would be calling Poland to give back to Germany places like Gdansk and Prussia at large, for the criminal mistakes were made by Hitler and the present Germans had nothing to do with 1940. Perhaps you would be calling France to hand over Strassburg, if you were Le Pen but as you probably know, these extreme nationalist have not even began to think like you.

I know, it is a cruel world, but this is how it works.

Bananiot with all due respect I'm not the academic that has lived a life of theory and schools. Us in the real world of practise do not see a plan on paper and theorise about how good it is. Us practical people can actually visualise and add the human factor (also known as the fuckup factor) giving us a better idea of what can work and what can't. In theory you believe in a united Cyprus....in practise all your efforts are leading us into a dangerous permanent partition.

I'll quote Kikapu again and warn you that any unfair solution imposed/dumped on the GC's will come back and bite Cyprus in the ass again.

Your willingness to agree to everything and portray yourself as the liberal academic who understands this world better than the poor plebs and slobs that live here is sickening. Your arrogance proves one thing, that you are not comfortable and feel insecure in that skin you try to project otherwise your desires for a solution would flow subtly just like Bir's and Kikapu's. You on the other hand have a need to displace your opponent beforehand with characterisations such as skinhead, nationalist, fanatic and generally a non-travelled imbecile as you so politely tried to label me before.

This isn't a classroom, this is the real world and young professionals like myself are the backbone of this world. Stop preaching, shut up and listen you might learn something other than how to order from a taverna in Turkish.

Really DT, I fail to see why you quoted me while your post has nothing to do with the quote you were attempting (I presume) to answer. Perhaps you should try again, otherwise I would be forced to keep you in detention and give you F.

Back to our topic now! Friday is approaching fast. Look out for the pavement patriots when Talat and Christofias will announce the starting of negotiations come September. It should be fun.

No disrespect but the the person that comes into my mind whenever I think of teachers is Helen Mavrou (or Helen Black for the EU) the Mayor. Someone who has lived a life of theory, has never had a conventional job in her life and gets completely stuck with the slightest wiff of practicality. Explains the mess this city is in right now.

And yes you're right. I thank my teachers for giving me the foundations in life to be able to disagree with practically everything you say.

If you're still here I'd like to try something if you don't mind. Would i be possible for you to list your "red lines" when it comes to the solution? I'd really be interested to see just how far apart we really are.

Yes I am still here. Just had a game of backgammon in between. My red lines you ask. I agree with the leader of the party you support 100%. Does that satisfy you?

P.S. I haven't always been a teacher. I have been a waiter, a builder (buliding sites of London) and a journalist. Started teaching at the ripe old age of 29.

Aahh the stressful life of a teacher. 3 months of non-stop summer vacation.

I wouldn't have a clue what he supports right now. I'll help you out.

Do you accept a rotating presidency?
Do you accept Turkey's gaurantees?
Do you accept the formation of a new state (the famous virgin birth)
