that will be good that its coming to cy soon then i wont need a region patch everytime upgrade firmware :/

I think you should wait for a while the price will drop.
I phone cant catch up with the demand now that’s why is so expensive
so give it about a month and you will get it match cheaper.
I have a friend who is waiting for 200 off them and he will be selling them
around 400 euros but not sure yet.

i already have the 16GB first generation not sure if i will buy the 3G yet, but your better off waiting until they are available in cy so you dont need a region patch..

when people ring me and i save the number with area code +357 it does not show their name, so i save without easy, then whent hey text me and i have saved without their name does not show even though i have their name saved in the contact list which means i have to save numbers TWICE once with and once without area code so the names show when they a. send a text and b. ring me which is why you need a region patch so you only need to save number once, and this problem will go away once iphone is oficially in cyprus... because at the moment there is no region patch with firmware 2.0.1

:O...so even if you buy it from germanos for example..you still have to put the numbers twice??

yes because iphone is not legit in cy so you have to install a region patch which fixes this problem, although there is no region patch yet for 2.XX firmware which the iphone 3g has

i had to keep saving numbers with +357 and without it was very annoying until i found region patch on 1.1.4 i was glad but now i upgraded i will need to wait until there is a patch or if the iphone is official before then, when its official in the country then you wont need one.
