LIKE OIL & WATER?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

LIKE OIL & WATER?

Postby MedByzantine » Sun Jul 20, 2008 4:03 pm

Well, looks like the kind people at parliament of Turkey have given the go ahead to build a 76km undersea pipeline to supply Cyprus with much needed water, which will solve the drought problem. But of course, one of the main agendas is the 70,000km of high-grade low sulphur petroleum deposits in the sea off the coast of Cyprus. And an Israeli firm and a Turkish firm TPAO have already prepared a plan since 2001 to tap into the oil resources north of the pan-handle and south west of Iskenderun. Looks like OIL will solve the Cyprus problem in the end....

Hence the reason the EU is finally doing something to regain its full Cypriot territory.

I believe the Turks have been issued with their withdrawal notice! 8)

If a war ensues because they won't budge ... well we have been preparing ourselves for the worst, whilst hoping for the best.

This may be the catalyst to the real solution.

BTW ... that Turkish Parliament ... is it still the same one today? ... want a bet it will not be by the end of Summer?

And ... please go ahead and build that water pipe.

It should be useful for when our Greek Brothers regain Anatolia and Asia Minor

Brings about a greater question though, Would the average GC accept water from Turkey?, or are they content with the supplies of stagnant water from the Mother land?

That is not the greater question.

The greater question is ... are Turks capable of engineering?

We trusted the Israelis to supply a pipe for the tanker and they failed us.

We should carry on with our usual tried and tested self-sufficiency methods. They have stood us in good steed for thousands of years.

Hail Archimedes ... and screw the Turks!

When you have established a civilisation of some several thousand years which the world still uses as a blueprint .... then attempt to pass on sophisms.

Until then, concentrate on your struggle to leave the primeval swamp.

At the end of the day the EU does not care about Cypriots, they just want the oil, the water will probably go to supply offices and business established in the north by foreign oil and gas firms and all the other necessary companies such as engineering, technology and distribution for the exploration and distribution of gas. Ths will probably result in oil pollution around the island and ruin tourism anyway...
