Why is the term Greek Cypriot a bad one? I mean in the USA they have Greek Americans or Italian Americans etc, and most of them don't even speak Greek or Italian.
I don't think there is a reason to become exactly the same. As long as the state treats all its citizens in the same way, any differences between us are something more positive than negative (if we realize that we can get along without conflicts)
Do you know any country with the name Greekcypriotland? Do you know any country with the name Turkishcypriotland? I know none such countries. In the list of UN member countries, I do not see such a country. The only country I see is Cyprus. I look on the map of Europe and Middle East and I see Turkey, I see Lebanon, I see Israel, I see Egypt, I see Greece and I see an island with the name Cyprus. Where is this Greekcypriotland? Where is this Turkishcypriotland? They do not exist!
What nationality is this "Greek Cypriot"? From which country it comes from? Is it someone whose one parent is from Greece and the other parent from Cyprus, but he was born in the middle of the sea and as such he has no nationality himself?

the Cypriots. There is only one people in Cyprus,
the Cypriots. Among others, there are
Greek speaking Cypriots and
Turkish speaking Cypriots. There is no Turkish and no Greek Cyprus. Those who do not feel Cypriots and instead they claim to be Greeks or GreekCypriots or Turks or TurkishCypriots can as well live the country because this country belongs only to the Cypriots.
