Do not know the exact legalities, but I would say that if you have an EU passport, you would probably be safe. You may however need to be deported if your entry into Cyprus was through an illegal port of entry. But even in that case, you would be free to come back, especially since you have an EU passport.

Further issues will arise if your property is GC owned, which you have stated that it is not. So you have nothing to worry about.

Provided that following a settlement the EU acquis communautaire is applied to the whole island, no citizen of another EU country can be denied the right to live and work here. The worse thing that could happen is that they will have to apply again for everything from scratch, given that their previous residence permits and other documents were issued by an entity that has no international recognition.
The question of title to property is, of course, a whole different kettle of fish.

The settlers issue is one of the less sensative issues for TCs, so we can be flexible and I believe a figure has been agreed with your leader of around 45/50.000. Imo the importnant issue here is applying the same principles on both sides of the divide, the settlers go the Pontian Greeks and others granted citizenship go.

When did this happen VP? ....... And why would Turkey continue to send more settlers if it believed it had exceeded some agreed "quota"?

Make up your minds, are they EU citizens or are they staying with permits and non-citizens, all this will come out in the ash once we set the standards to be applied to all citizenships granted both sides of the divide, you cannot apply double standards one for the north and one for the south,so many people in the south will also have to go back to where they came from.

How they got in is a different matter. Now that Cyprus is in the European Union, we can't kick out anyone who has a EU passport. The same will apply to settlers if they have Turkish passports and Turkey becomes a member of the EU.

EU citizens apply and get residence permits in ALL EU countries. You are trying to make something out of nothing on this point. There is no way an EU resident can reside in another EU country withouth a residence permit, unless he is a tourist for breif temporary stay.

And one very important detail- the children of the Pontians DO NOT become Cypriot citizens. Unlike the mass naturalisations that take place in the north under Turkish pressure. Naturalising 50 000 people in one fell swoop is more than treason by the administration against TCs. Talk about selling out your people!
