I agree there are two sides to negotiate towards the solution ...

.... Turkey and the RoC-EU.

"..fears and concerns.." (again and again and again..). Put on another gramophone record.

The other thing that has really got my goat over the past few hours is the news that the Turkish regime's leader Erodocant is coming to celebrate the Turkish Piss Operation.

So we sit down and negotiate with people who who see the deaths of thousands of Cypriots and the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands as a matter for celebration eh?

All depends on your point of view Bill C. You make it out as if all has bee quite normal in Cyprus over the centuries. You talk about TC's "deluded fears" and take the piss out of it. Well a few questions for you , How many Republics are there in the world that have a national anthem of a foreign country? How many Republics are there in the world that embrace a foreign flag more than their own ? I just guess we are crazy huh.

Well I'm off to Kyrenia to see the Turkish stars air show, never seem them live before .

Off you go and celebrate the 6,000 GC victims of your so called "peace operation" and the ethnic cleansing of 200,000 GCs.

At least one other in history,

Republic of Hatay 1938-1939, ANNEXED BY TURKEY IN 1939

National Anthem : Istiklal Marsi

Flag :

Turkish Population % : 50%

How can a population percentage of 50% ( 1 to 1 ) demand ENOSIS but a population percentage of 80% ( 4 to 1 ) can't ?

It is well documented that an animal caught in a trap will often bite off its trapped limb to gain its freedom. Freedom is always won, it is never given. Maybe there is a lesson in there for us.

And if at some point in the future the TCs learn the meaning of freedom, then they can ask to join, if there are any of them left in the north by then. The Piss Operation has brought about Enosis of the north with Turkey and expulsion of all GCs and a big proportion of TCs from the north too. You only have to look at the celebrations and the VIP seats to understand that the north is now treated as a part of Turkey. The TC officials are like domestic help to the mainlanders.

We will see in September how the TCs approach the issue of their own freedom. If they are ready to throw off the heavy hand of their big brother and behave like independent people. I am not too hopeful.

The Turkish population of Hatay was less than 50%. It was 40%, which means they were a minority and yet still achieved their enosis with RoT.

HYPOCRICY is a Turkish trait.

A trait so often transmitted by the Turks is HYPOCRICY!

Yes, I know. I didn't want to complicate my response.

So then I see you have put yourselves in the same sack as "The Republic of Hatay", which was a step before being given to Turkey by the French. Just the same with you guys I suppose who liked to see the RoC as a step to ENOSIS.
