olgaesplai, the Flamingo is about 3 kilometers from the Larnaca sea front. It is more then 20 minutes walk and with a child, a little longer. In general it is a 'good value for money' hotel.

Flamingo Hotel is located between Sveltos Hotel and Adonis Hotel right in front of Makenzie Beach. The street used to be called Makenzie Street when I lived at Atalanta Court ages ago. I think the street has a new name now, a name which I can't remember at the moment. If my memory serves me well there's a pool on the roof. It used to be a pretty nice hotel back in the early 80's. I was outside a couple of weeks ago and it still looks decent. But I have no idea what the inside is like and what the rooms are like.

I reckon it's a 20 minute walk to the fort. You must walk a one way road (from Sea Front/Finikoudes Beach to Makenzie) with virtually no room for pedestrians. Depending on the age of the child this can be a problem. The traffic can be a 'bit' busy sometimes. Make sure the child is being supervised accordingly to avoid accidents.

Since it's close to the airport you might find the noise annoying. The airplanes will virtually pass over your head when you're at the beach.

There are several hotels and apartments in the area. About halfway to the fort you have Lordos Apartments where you used to be able to rent on a weekly basis. But I think they're being rebuilt to be sold as exclusive apartments with sea view. Maybe someone else knows more.
