Fiction can be as entertaining as fact!

Sorry to go for the obvious, but in that case why are bitching from behind a monitor when you could be outdoors enjoying life on this beautiful, fine day?

As long as Fiction is kept as such and not passed as a Fact, as in "Tom Soyer's" posts..

Does CF need an image consultant?

Postby Conor » Thu Jul 17, 2008 4:00 pm

I must say this is not an average internet forum. As requested I link to it on my website.

This forum is not for the squeamish. Love it or hate it, it can’t be ignored. It is the biggest Cyprus forum on the internet. Cyprus is a war torn Island and every thread on this forum heads North un-moderated. If you want to see what some Cypriots really think of the British on the "Island of Love” then this is the place to go.

Within 10 minutes of announcing my family plight I was called a “plebeian” and a “selfish scumbag” it went downhill from there to “I think I am going to get a group of Cypriots to come down and piss over you while you sleep”

It is sadly populated by internet_trolls who live in Cyberspace rather than Cyprus itself. Some post 50 plus times a day anonymously like cowards and haven’t seen daylight in months. However there are a lot of nice people (Cypriot and Ex-pat) there too and in only 10 minutes of reading you will easily be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff. Good Luck!!

I haven't registered at the CL forum but I've been there taking a look at what's being offered. I was tempted to describe it as a cesspool full of waste. But that wouldn't be fair because there is some useful stuff there for certain types of people I guess. Someone was educating others about the snakes in Cyprus, complete with photos. That's an admirable thing to do!

However, the percentage of bandwidth wasting inane posts wasting valuable hard disk space is pretty high over there. But I reckon they would say the same about this place.

To their defense I must admit that some of the posts most likely contain useful information to the people who choose to communicate and interact at the forum in question. I reckon it's simply not a forum for me although I must admit that some threads over there has an undeniable entertainment value. ;)

To our defense I must say that we actually try to talk about things that matter. Even though we have our own fair share of threads like 'Do you feel claustrophobic living in Cyprus?'. What kind of question is that to ask on a public forum anyway?
