No just a vast amount of presents and traditional Cypriot stuff for my "homes" in various places

So does one just phone a shipping company?

I was hoping someone had a tried and tested method, as it would be the sort of thing a lot of expats resort to using on a regular basis .... since many keep close ties between the two places ....

Only shipped stuff the other way and keep cursing myself for having sent stuff that I need here eg. my turntable for playing vinyl records when I decided it would be stupid to send the records there due to the heat.

Well I want to find a reliable easy service that does door to door from one place to the other and vice versa too ...

I think it depends what port in the UK is nearest to where you're shipping to as transport this end could be expensive if it's a long distance. Mine went from Liverpool and can look them up if you think that might be useful.

No Portsmouth is my nearest in the UK .... but a long drive nevertheless at the other end.

And I would rather not trudge around ports for the sake of just a few boxes (I've had enough of them with regular trips to France to avoid them in-between if I can.)

You would think it is the sort of thing that was done on a regular basis with so many people having homes in both places now ....

Does anyone know the best way to send a couple of (4 or 5) medium sized boxes to the UK, please?

The post is too expensive. Removal firms are unsuitable.

How does one transfer a few boxes of goods, cheaply from Cyprus to UK?

I am happy to take them as far as Limassol to a dispatch place but collection would be better.

By 'post' do you just mean Cyprus post or have you included couriers in this? The latter may be cheaper, I don't know!

How heavy are the boxes? Was your quote via air-mail? Could you send them snail mail via sea?

See if you know anyone in the air freight business like FedEx or UPS in your circle of friends, because the employees use to get 75% discount few years ago on shipments. They can ship your boxes on your behalf.

If you only have ONE friend and he/she is not in the freight business, then it will cost you 100%.
