Delboy, you have to realise that you are asking a very inflammatory question. A lot of people who post here were driven from their land in the 1974 Turkish invasion. Most of the cheap property that is now being sold to British people in the north is built on land that, by rights, belongs to Greek Cypriots like them. You are waving a red flag at a bull by asking this question.

New members are encouraged to use the search facility before asking questions that most likely has been asked (and replied to) earlier.

It's not a shit forum! Spend another 15 minutes to look around. But perhaps this is not a forum for you? There are places for those who sleeps well at night although they know they bought stolen property.

Sad people? Do you expect people who were forced to leave their property behind to be happy when someone have inquiries about whether it's safe to buy their properties from someone who stole it from them? As a matter of fact Cypriots in general (including those on this forum) are impressively happy considering the ordeals they've gone through for pretty much half a century.

Insults? You need to understand that your post added insult to injury for many GC's who lost their homes. If you had done your homework better before posting such an inane question you would have saved yourself from 'insulting' posts.

Delboy, I have posted this before but here it is again for your benefit, it's a diect quote from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London -

Property issues are closely linked to the political situation. There are a number of potential practical, financial and legal implications, particularly for those considering buying property in the north. These relate to the non-recognition of the "Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus", the suspension of EU law in northern Cyprus, the possible consequences for property of a future settlement, and the many thousands of claims to ownership from people displaced in 1974. There is also a risk that, as a result of the disputed ownership of many of the properties, purchasers could face legal proceedings in the courts of the Republic of Cyprus, as well as attempts to enforce judgments from these courts elsewhere in the EU, including the UK.
Separately, potential purchasers should also ensure that they are fully aware of the specific rules imposed by the administration on foreigners purchasing property in the north including the requirement to obtain consent to the transfer of property.

So what you are saying is that thousands of foreigners have done no homework whatsoever and wasted their life savings?, quite surprised that you didnt mention your 3 favorite letters , dumb, blinkered racist prick.

No, titoli I'm saying that The Foreign and Commonwealth Office are saying that thousands of foreigners may not have done their homework, I'm not sure how that makes me a racist. Would you buy a car from someone if you were told it may have been stolen?

I hope all the foreign cheapskate, carpetbagging thieves who live on my family's property in the north of Cyprus lose even the shirts on their backs and have to live in refugee camps in the antarctic for the rest of their miserable lives.

Incidentally, dumb, racist, blinkered and prick are words not letters.

Where have I mentioned TMT?

It looks like your post has been removed, perhaps you should moderate your language

Why didn't you ask this question on the other forum where you were asking about work for deaf window cleaners?
