All sorts! For some (Cypriots!) it is compulsory!

Sorry O, but I am not 'getting' your obvious obsession with Conor! :? :?

OMG  ... Is that why they were on my mind ... OMG  ... stick some IMHOs in there somewhere IMHO

Bubbles .. I am obviously not referring to conscripts and Military service  ..

I am curious about the nature / psyche of the average career-killer ... I mean career-soldier! :D

No O, the only thing OBVIOUS, is your obsession with Conor and you trying to discredit him anyway you can! IMO!

Maybe you should stay off the kokkineli for a night or two!

BTW, why not include National Service - are their guns made from plastic? Can these soldiers not have a career following their NS? :?

Bubbles can you refrain from passing on your false assumptions ....

If they choose an Army career after NS then they are the same as Career Soldiers. Point?

What assumptions? The wine? Just going by your post from last night - copied it for your memory

Stop this thread, I want to get off! :(

So, if after doing their NS, they then decide to become 'career soldiers' that is ok is it? Maybe it was because of the NS they decided to enlist and become 'killing machines' So I wonder if conscription is such a good thing!?

That was for Richard ... I didn't want to upset him about the less wholesome aspects of Soldiering.

My "Village Red" as I mentioned once a long time ago is Triantafillo ... Rose Cordial.

Bubbles I've told you before .. I don't like the taste of alcohol  and I don't need it to loosen my tongue

I still do drink it with milk

But my favourite way is my " Pink Champagne" .... add 1 teaspoon of Afrosa (Sherbet) to it .... best mixed between two glasses!

O dont bother trying to explain your motives to bubbles

I perfectly understood this thread

If it hadn't been hijacked by certain members it could have been a good even if somewhat contrerversial topic.

It has been somewhat discussed before on Forum in the case of Louise Jansen the Danish girl raped by British soldiers a few years ago. I thought some one else may have related to this earlier in the thread. But it seems that I am the only one who remembers!

When it was first posted I under stood you to be talking metaphorically about rapes and abuses by soldiers

But it seems others picked up on the thread literally

I wish you and the best and long may you keep this Forum alive

So long as you've had your fun then that is all that matters Bubbles.

Some of us were actually having a debate on an interesting adult topic ... and if we make the odd off-topic comment it doesn't take over and become the highlight, it is like a pause to draw breath and then we hope to carry on with the topic!
