Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church Archbishop II. Hrisostomos proposed that the check-points between South Cyprus and TRNC to be closed.
Archbishop II. Hrisostomos criticized the Greek Cypriot and Greek governments due to their attitudes concerning the Cyprus problem in a statement that he made in Athens University.
Archbishop II. Hrisostomos claimed that “South Cyprus did not take advantages of the EU membership” and “a good Talat legend that would solve the Cyprus problem was created with social meetings and dinners”, and he defended that “the Greek Cypriot side surrendered itself and committed itself to bad results.”
Claiming that the terms of ‘Greek and Turkish founder states’ were used for the first time, Archbishop II. Hrisostomos proposed that the check-points between TRNC and South Cyprus should be closed; because they served the economical interests of Turkey.
