How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Visitors to Northern Cyprus today, enjoying the welcome of their Turkish Cypriot hosts and the beauty and tranquillity of our land will find it hard to imagine the terrible suffering we endured only a few years ago, which made it necessary to have a Turkish Cypriot State in the North and a separate Greek Cypriot State in the south.
The British granted independence in 1960 on the basis of a partnership constitution agreed between the two peoples of Cyprus. However, within three years the Greek Cypriots threw the Turkish Cypriots out of all our official positions by force of arms, and ignored the Supreme Constitutional Court when it ruled in our favour. The Greek Cypriots then proceeded to murder hundreds of Turkish Cypriot men, women and children. They attempted genocide against us three times - in 1963, 1967, and 1974.

IMPORTANT NOTE: G/cs are habitans of the Island since 2500years ago as newcomers from Mani, Greece, created local culture/civilization similiar to mainland Greece and T/cs appeared in the Island as shetlers after Ottomans invated (again) the Island

HUGE DIFFERENCE- The point that Grecve never occupied Cyprus is G/cs bigger point that they are the natural citizens of this Island and all others are just shelters after invasions/occupations

This is good enough answer Epsilon, there is a big difference between us hope politicians also notice this HUGE DIFFERENCE and stop trying to unite Turks with Greeks,

Soyer, all of us here at the Cyprus-Forum would appreciate if you wrote on here without an empty stomach. Your words show that your hungry for food or women. I can't narrow down the two, but your getting dilirious.

Soyer, I don't know about you, but I come from a "mixed" village. This was unknown to us being villagers, it took the British to teach us that we were "Greeks" and "Turks". Neither were "we" Turks or Greeks, and as you say we were never "Cypriots", yet our society was more socialised then, than our subjugators whose interest has always been our plunder.

This proximity argument, ie Cyprus is nearer to Turkey than Greece therefore...... blah blah, must make the Syrians worry, the distance between them and Turkey is zero miles.

should it matter if someone is greek, greek cypriot, turkish or turkish cypriot? people are people ,good and bad in all . cyprus now has so many other groups of people living here as well. why divide an island, when truthfully you could live together. tc's and gc's manage to become friends when living in london, so it is possible.

Its not a matter of living with one another but who will rule who , with a 80% advantage the GC will win every time, this TCs will never accept due to past experiencies. The only way forward is a BBF with politcal equality. or agreed division.
