Andys Motors selling cars inadequetly

Postby nataliewickham » Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:41 pm

I would just like to clarify something

I bought a car off andys motors 2 yrs ago which we were told was duty free and thus we were going to sell the car to a cypriot who is not entitled to duty free and was more than willing to pay theu duty around 500 euro

But to day i was shocked when i went to andys motors if they could give us a rough price on this and they turned round and said it is 900 cypriot pound about 1800 euro due to the fact the vat has to be paid also. I had no idea this was the case and would have thought andys motors would have told us this when we had bought the car. To this end i believe andys motors are a pain in the back side as they do not give the customer any after sales care

or if they do its oh sorry really busy today can u come back tommorow and we will sort u out .....

Haha what a laugh I recommend no one buys from andys motors what a rip off bunch of money grabbers

Cheers

I understand your frustration. For the record, I would not buy a car in Cyprus, due to the amount of idiot traders, and also the price. To be honest I think there are far worse car dealers in Cyprus, in fact you will be hard push to find any company in Cyprus that covers after sales, particularly in the car business. There are a few rare gems, but you have to search for those.

They are franchises in Cyprus, owned privately, some of the same families own large second hand dealerships also !!

How long do you expect after-sales care to last .. two years is a bit excessive on a second hand car don't you think?

Even with most new cars it is one year .. and that is for warranties, not to nurse you through the tax/legal system.

3 years on a Audi phoenix. After that you pay for extended warranty, £1200 in Cyprus, £700 in the UK per year.

I know and some are 5 years .. but that is new cars, and certainly not all.

This sounds like a second-hand car.

Also ... as you say it is a warranty for parts ... not to give you advice on tax etc.
