I had a similar experience. A work colleague - and a very good friend - was given some by another friend (not work related though) and she did not have the heart to tell her that she disliked it. So, she ended up giving it to me (I liked it at the time) and I proceeded to wear it every day for work
Yes, we ARE still friends :)

I had to wear mine when I saw them, I could not hurt her feelings, what is worse I was actually alergic to it, brought me out in an awful rash.

OK perfume experts- I need your help.

There is a perfume which has a deep smell reminiscent of Chios gum. Perhaps it is mixed with amber, I do not know. But the overall sense is of Chios gum or Paphos gum for those of you who do not know Chios gum.

What I do know is that all the times I smelled it the women wearing it were very classy and attractive. Anyone know what I am talking about?

The Italian perfumers tend to use more resins and incense, whilst the French lean towards flowers and musks. Chances are it is Italian.

I used to wear the original Missoni, which years ago a Greek friend commented on in similar fashion .... but they have recently updated it and it doesn't smell like that at all.

The nearest one (although French) that I would say is reminiscent of Chios gum is Coco by Chanel.

But why don't you stop one of these classy ladies and ask, on the pretext of wanting to buy it for your wife (not misconstrued as a pick-up) and most women would be flattered to be asked by a man, and likely to reveal their secret (somehow losing their "memories" as to which precise one they sprayed that day, when asked by fellow women  ).

The category within which you place the wearers, "classy and attractive," could be a manifestation of pheromone constituents (hmm, thinks "Kifeas" ). There is a great deal of research into this area of mimicking human secretions, with some interesting results. Grapefruit can produce amazing effects

I know we are in opposition regarding the vision of a "leave animals alone" world ... but Chanel are supposed to be leading the way in abandoning cruel animal products; but I don't know how far they have progressed.

So do not forget the plight of the Hyrax and whales etc., and think twice before buying "unnecessarily" .....
