I will endeavour to join your protest at times Conor.

Thanks Feisty it would be great to see you at St James's Square.

Thanks cyprusgeoff for all your support too.

The emails through out the day have been amazing. We are really really grateful. Its a shame cowardly bullies like Maynard23 put people off from posting.

By the way, I made a comment in your website similar to my post above. It didn't appear yet because I guess you have to moderate it first. I hope you will allow the message to go live so your visitors can at least see some independent opinion since the opinion of the other side is not represented at all.

I have been following the Connor's case on their web-sites and far too many other cases on other sites for months. Whilst I know that almost all developers deliver a quality product with thousands of happy customers there are far too many cases where this ain't happened and this relatively small number of problem cases create disproportionately bad publicity for this important sector of the CY economy.

We must surely all condemn cases, like Connors, where in the matter of the two alleged assaults, very little seems to have been done to bring the alleged assailants before the courts to answer charges. What on earth are the local police and prosecutors up to? We all know the extent of "meson" (nepotism ?) in CY that M. refers to and which has no place in a modern European state. I am convinced that this and the unprofessional habit of alliances between a small number of developers and some solicitors have played a very large part in this affair. So I would say that every European citizen has a duty, where they feel they have been treated unfairly by authority, by states and governments, to protest, to take to the streets or to the pavements.

From what I see your case is pending, and I am sure justice will be served. if you have right then it might take time but you will win the case eventually. Justice is not served in public forums and with making websites. Justice is not a matter of public opinion.

I understand that you wanted to make your case public against Karayiannas and that is your right. But attacking the whole country and expecting the president of Cyprus and the ministers to personally deal with your case is outrageous. They have far more serious issues to deal with. If I had a dispute with somebody in the UK would you expect Gordon Brown to come and personally deal with my case? Get serious please!

Furthermore I would like to ask you what are all the ads and the donation requests on your websites? It seems to me you are trying to profit from the publicity you are trying to receive and this is somehting that makes me having doubts about your true motives.

I agree with you Piratis, this whole campaign stinks and Conor is latching on to the sorrows of other people who may have been badly treated for different reasons, how many of those who are backing him, tried to get a much larger house for the same money?, how many have sworn at and abused the developers and there staff?, Conor knows exactly what he is doing and he is hoping his silly campaign will make his fortune.
I think he should dress up as a court jester when he settles down in St James's Square, he could do some juggling to earn a few bob, he is no good at the property scamming game and thats for sure.

If he wants to do some good, why doesn't he take up the cause of the hundreds of thousands of people whose houses were stolen from them ?, some of them would have been glad to "Sleep Rough" in St James's Square.
Stay away from Cyprus Conor, do your scamming in your own country, you met your match when you tried it on in Cyprus.
If I can arrange it, I will borrow the horses from Her Majesty's horse guard and arrange for them to piss over you as you sleep rough , a small repayment for what your country has done to Cyprus.

Yes I know of the Orams Case. I'm nothing to do with the North. If you have an issue there I have just Googled the address of the Turkish Consulate in London. Its Rutland Lodge,Rutland Gardens, Knightsbridge London, SW7 1BW. You can buy a sleeping bag at Millets down the road and protest.

By highlighting our case I have saved many their life savings. I remained quiet for a year it got me no where apart from Karayiannas selling my house to another family who they themselves were boasting on a forum of there lovely new house. Shame I wasn't on the forums then as I could have told them No 30 Ayios Sergios in the village of Frenaros was ours.

I am protesting for myself and others both Cypriot and Ex-Pat who have bought property in Cyprus from unscrupulous developers and lawyers who act with impunity because they are bolstered by your corrupt authorities. I repeat my cases are not CIVIL they are CRIMINAL! If the authorities don't act nothing gets done.

You think I'm profiting 4p a click from ads generated by Google. Grow up.

IMPORTANT NOTE: NOTHING CONCERNING THE NORTH WILL BE ALLOWED ON MY WEBSITE. WE BOUGHT WITHIN THE EU. YOU START YOUR OWN WEBSITE FOR THAT ISSUE.

Goodnight

Excellent post Piratis ....

When I tried to tackle Conor about this on his last thread ... I felt really threatened as he tried to get me to e-mail him (by a PM request  ... which I have kept! .... presumably to get to my real identity).... then he suggested (threatened?) me that his lawyer would have me for breakfast as I implied he may be an "internet extortionist" ... luckily I showed him I only thought that because he stupidly posted a youtube claiming he would only be satisfied with billions .. when I dared to ask him how much he was expecting.

Well I don't know the builder, but I feel sorry for him, because it seems that Connor being an ex-squaddie may now not have any other occupation but to spend his time on this matter .... I don't know, but it may seem that way.

What I am NOT happy about and WILL get involved with, is the fact that he seems to be trying to use blackmailing-type of tactics in my opinion, to shame Cyprus as a whole, into perhaps giving him some money .... and IMHO, from what he has said so far, he may want a LOT .... before he would do what most people would do and wait for justice to grind its wheels...

Has anyone ever gone down the road of litigation and had it sorted fast? :?

No ... everywhere the wheels of justice are slow .... and rightly so, because seeing the case from all sides takes time ..

But I do not think Conor is doing himself any favours by being impatient ....

And IMHO, all those jumping on the bandwagon, should think about what they are helping?

Conor, you avoided every question I made. I will make them even more clear for you:

1) You generalize and accuse the whole of Cyprus with comments like "island of fraud", "your corrupt authorities" etc, but when I point to you the Apostolides VS Orams case, where the British criminals were defended and protected by the wife of the then Prime Minister of the UK Blair, you have no comment.
It is clear that the legal system in the UK is way worst and far more corrupt, when even the members of the family of the Prime minister not only do not protect the innocent, but they use their authority to protect the British criminals.

2) Why do you expect the president of Cyprus and the ministers to personally deal with your case? If I had a dispute in the UK would you expect your Prime Minister to personally deal with my case and help me?

3) Why do you have ads and ask for donations in your websites? Are you trying to profit from the free publicity that you receive?

My comment to your website had nothing to do with the north. This is the comment I left to your website:

From what I see your case is pending, and I am sure justice will be served. if you are right then it might take time but you will win the case eventually. Justice is not served in public forums and websites. Justice is not a matter of public opinion.

You are online now but still the above comment is not approved to be shown to your website. Why?

Also I noticed that in your lyingbuilder website, in this page: http://www.lyingbuilder.com/links.html along with the ads you have links to two other forums, but not to this forum. Why is that? You only want to use this forum to direct traffic to your websites, but you don't want others to find this forum and see some independent opinions about your case?

It is clear that your websites present only your side of the story, and not the side of Karayiannas. But at the very least you should have allowed the independent opinions of others to be heard since you decided to make this a public story.

Yes, but why did you feel the need to say you were taking refuge in an illegally occupied unrecognized (for legal reasons) pseudo state in one of your above posts, Conor?

Are you perhaps being offered any incentives by them for these seemingly anti-Cypriot actions?

Piratis,

I have approved your comment. I didn't see that you had chopped off the bit about Apostolides VS Orams.

I will gladly link to this forum in the morning. That is an oversight. I really want all Brits to know the true feelings of some Cypriots. We are all pumped up with "Aphrodite the goddess of love". Comments from Oracle who within 10 minutes of hearing of my families distress called me a "Selfish scumbag!" are important to address the balance.

Its important to know that Cyprus is a war torn Island and every issue including me loosing my house, me getting beaten in front of a village of Frenaros, the local police not wanting to investigate - all goes back to the 1974 Invasion. You will never see the parallels in what your Lawyers, Developers and estate agents do EVERYDAY.

There you got me talking about the issue now high jack this thread and tell me of the battles you have given up on in the past and what YOU are doing about it now.

I don't have time to answer all your questions but let me try once more
Question 1) Apostolides VS Orams case - nothing to do with me. Cyprus is becoming known as an "island of fraud" and "your corrupt authorities" is accurate in my case.

Question 2) I don't expect "ministers to personally deal with your case" ministers have been promising this for over a year. I expect Paralimni CID to appoint an officer who doesn't live in the same village as Karayiannas to investigate. TOO MUCH TO ASK?
Oracle wrote:before he would do what most people would do and wait for justice to grind its wheels...

Justice didn't grind its wheels in the bar brawl case that happened two weeks after I was hospitalized did it. That bar owner now wants £4 million pounds from the British authorities. I think the wheels or palms of justice were well greased to get that case in court before my perpetrators are even leaned on.

Question 3) Isn't worthy of an answer.

Lets face it Piratis, your not my target audience. Your not a property buyer from a foreign land. If you condone Karayiannas actions or think I'm an extortionist your as pathetic as Oracle and Maynard23.

Conor,

I am sorry that your case has got to this point but I am sure that it is in the minority of cases as thousands of people buy property in Cyprus each year without any problems.

When you chose to deal with this developer, did you not conduct any research into their reputation or business practices? If I were going to live in a new country and deal with a private firm that I had no experience of, the first thing I would do is find out if they were reliable. I certainly wouldn't sign contracts and hand over huge amounts of cash without knowing that the firm was 100% trustworthy. Obviously this does not excuse any bad practices by the developer, but surely a degree of caution should always be exercised when dealing with large sums of money.

I understand your frustration but I think that it is a little unrealistic and unfair to brand the whole of Cyprus as 'the island of fraud' etc. While I am not sure that websites and protests are going to help, I truly wish you the best of luck and am sure that justice will be done.
