Saying all that though i will still come to cyprus for a holiday once things sort themselves out and America stops being fantastic value for money.

Well you sound a little mixed up .... :?

We are not bearing any gifts ... you have to have some money if you want to buy anything in Cyprus ....

Did you have to explain that to your Daughter as well?

I won't be going anywhere, I'm 100% behind anybody who can change the corrupt system that seems to be the norm in this country where the
developers, builders and lawyers take peoples money and dishonesty
rules seemingly without any punishment.

Shoulder to shoulder WITH, sounds a little more respectable mate, 100% BEHIND can conjure up all kinds of fanciful images and I think Conor is under enough scrutiny as it is, greedy bastard.

Somebody on about page 8 asked for a link to this forum on my website. That is now up.

http://www.lyingbuilder.com/links.html

Honestly this thread has lost me from about page 10 onwards but on skimming I would like to thank Feisty & cyprusgeoff and others for fighting my corner. To be honest the opposition here are too thick to educate and my time is better spent elsewhere. Had a good day with the Press and I will keep popping back when I have news.

Cheers

The Uk Office of Fair Trading has uncovered systematic price fixing and seemingly corrupt practices in tendering for large building projects. The firms accused by the government watchdog include some of the biggest construction companies in the UK including Balfour Beatty and Carillion.

The Office of Fair Trading investigation is believed to be one of its biggest and reveals practices that could have cost UK tax payers billions over the last few years. The OFT has been met with a ‘hands up’ from over 40 firms who have already admitted the charges

The scandal revolves around building firms acting together in ‘cover pricing'.'Cover pricing' is where one of the bidders deliberately puts in a tender which is too high to win a contract. The contact goes to another company which then compensates the 'rival’. The OFT says the client, which could be local authority or business, has no idea that the firms have been colluding.

Consequently it is left "with a false impression of the level of competition" which may result in it paying "inflated prices”. The building contract won by the building companies cover a wide range of projects, including tenders for schools, universities and hospitals.

In other construction news it was recently announced that Balfour Beatty recently won the contract to construct the venue for the swimming and diving events for the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Games in London.

Tut tut tut ... I thought only Cyprus had corrupt practices .... Maybe I have been misled :? ... I wonder by whom?

In my humble opinion, I think the UK is going to want to address the problem of errant Brits abroad, giving Britain a bad name much like Football hooligans .... ... maybe curtailing their activities?

Be very careful about what you say to the press Conor, especially the "SUN", (Miltiades's favourite source of information) I can just see the headlines :-

"Conor Reveals All In St James's Square!"

Keep the blankets tucked well up under your chin mate, wouldn't want you done for indecent exposure !.
