Shame On Cyprus / Sleeping Rough for Justice

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

These are the actions of governments. What does Joe Public actually do when he hears of things like this? Nothing. It's the same for any case you can think of. When people lose their homes from typhoons or earthquakes, we see the disaster and feel sorry for the people, but not many of us give to a charity or go and help the victims. Again, it's not a lack of awareness, it's a lack of willpower to do anything because it's not 'our problem'.

The world knows about the Cyprus Problem. It's just that the world doesn't want to help because it has it's own problems.

What's wrong with you living there Maynard? Scared of having to do National Service?

You all keep on about the courts and the law but that is the very issue. Developers and lawyers every day break the law with seeming impunity and you don't like it when people try to ensure the law is upheld.

Perhaps because we have family/cultural ties with Cyprus.
Why would YOU want to buy there when you hadn't even decided that you would live there (as you said in another thread.)

I did want to live there before I found out about all this. It rather leaves a bad taste in the mouth. It was my way of living in the country with a guaranteed income. Simple logistics.
Furthermore, we live in a global economy. Are you jealous of people with their own business?

I would gladly do my national service if I could live on the lands of my family, unfortunately there seems to be quite a lot of cheap development taking place there now, perhaps you and Conor might be able to come up with a scam and buy some to let out to the rightful owners.
Maybe that is what lies behind Conor's campaign, he may well be receiving payment from the illegal TRNC to encourage people to buy cheap houses over there.
Conor is such a crafty bastard, I wouldn't put it past him, he has managed to suck you into his den of deceit it seems.

I don't understand why you all feel so threatened because Conor is mounting a peaceful protest to try to highlight his case and get it heard in court.
Maybe you are scared that he might just be right and you think his case might just be the tip of the iceberg.
You seem more scared of the publicity than the truth.

I might have known you would try to resort to the 'north' tactic. Anyone who knows either Conor or myself knows we will have no truck with the north.

According to you, your family left Cyprus 50 years ago so how did they lose their land?

I just DESPISE people who go to another country purely for their own self enhancement, and with no intention to contribute to the customs/welfare of the new country.

You'll have to speak for yourself there Magnus. Personally I do a lot of charity work and give £100 to an African charity.
Then again I'd have to say I haven't seen much in the way of charity work in Cyprus. Perhaps I just wasn't looking.
