Then you may ask your selves why these people felt so badly for the plan. Papadopoulos really came to the rescue of Erdogan in 2004 with the resounding no he got.
Now, it is either partition (remember, life is all about options) or a solution worse than the AP. I know what the scoundrels will choose. No need to elaborate.
To even suggest reading any progressive newspapers and Magazines in Turkey is a disgrace to the true meaning of the word "progressive". We are talking about a nation that has ratified Article 301, and grapples between the cross roads of Kemalism and Islam. This is a nation that may even implode on itself. There is not much at all progressive about Turkey, a nation which has plundered and raped our own and forcibly occupies it to this day.
We all know the role of the Kemalist Generals in Turkey and understand the role they could have played should the Annan Plan have proceeded. But this is more as a result to the perceived tactical advantage of maintaining the northern parts of Cyprus as it's own military base and keeping a firm stranglehold on Cyprus.
This is definitely no excuse or argument for the short comings of the Annan Plan. And Cypriots will not place themselves at the mercy of Turkey or it's Generals. This Plan was clearly designed to appease Turkey as it's number 1 priority and British SBA interests as it's number 2 priority. The only concession we got was the 7% land transfer which Turkey could have easily reneged since you insinuate military action or the role of the generals. And the RoC would have been dissolved, rendering us all defenceless.
I respect the decisions of the the 24% that exercised their democratic right, but your arguments in support of the Annan Plan and Turkey's agenda is treasonous. You should perhaps consider moving to Turkey. Everything you have posted in the last few days is anti Hellenic and I am ashamed when I have the misfortune to stumble upon the trash you spew. I can honestly say that you have never made a post in support of Cyprus or Greece in their many struggles and national issues. I do not understand you agenda, but can honestly say that you are beyond any doubt, a disgrace IMHO.
