Giving Credit where Credit is due, `O' Must have spent hours researching that, It is just that well " Boring"
Unlike you ... I already knew ... saved myself the typing with 5 seconds of cut and paste ...
Sorry CC there is an "inside joke" for me which has gone way over your head and I apologise ...
Deniz ... if you care to look over the page the Greek derivation is explained.
Oh BTW .... I spent months researching protozoa, a long time ago now! ... but I guess that would just be another boring -ology
I am confused as I was always taught that the word was 'logy' meaning 'study of' i.e cardio-logy (heart - study of!)! Am I wrong? An 'o' is sometimes used as a bridge for words that do not flow together, but apart from that - in my book it is a logy! Help please.
Quite rightly so Bubbles .... ignore their rantings above I see it does not take much to get them going endlessly .... Gosh they must be bored!
It derives from Logos which literally means "word" ... so it is words or by extrapolation ..... study ..... of the subject to which it's linked.
Phew! Thanks, I thought I was going mad in the heat (no, I am not mad at other times - just ask my other self!!)
Sorry O, but I enjoy the banter - just harmless fun for a Monday
Watch what you say bubbles, it wont take long for O to change gear.
I am off for an hour or so. Damn meetings. I prefer chatting to the ladies.
Thanks for your kindness Sir, but I can handle myself!
Enjoy your meeting - not long till 'School's out' now eh?
