How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

News from the Northern Cyprus.

President Talat warned the GC's side trying to bargain through the press, he has warned the Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias several times not to use the press for such a purpose.
The right thing is to discuss all issues at the bargaining table… If they fail to understand this and if the talks are deadlocked, it will not be our responsibility. We are not in a position to show the highest flexibility indefinitely`,

This is how one British pro "trnc" settler sees things in the north, serves the bastards right for colluding in the theft of GC property << quote

Serves the Greeks right for what they did to us between 1955 - 1974. Unacceptable. They should have thought about what they did.

The difference is that In a democratic state issues will be discussed in the open ie the press.. as the government is elected by the people to serve the people

In the north the leaders are elected to represent turkish interests and not the people

News from the northern Cyprus.

Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer has said that a announcement by the Greek Cypriot Side that it will start oil exploration between Cyprus and Egypt next year is aimed at sabotaging the negotiations process.
The Prime Minister said that the Turkish Cypriot Side will never abandon its legitimate rights nor will it bow down to Greek Cypriot pressure.

Prime Minister Soyer said that the island of Cyprus was a ‘common homeland’ for both Turkish and Greek Cypriots and that all resources, whether on the surface or underground, were part of the joint sovereignty.
He said that Turkish Cypriots had an equal right over any oil to be discovered off the coast of Cyprus.
Soyer also pointed out that the recent Greek Cypriot news reports that exploration for oil will start in 2009 were the result of deliberate attempts to a create an atmosphere of tension and commotion ahead of the upcoming negotiations.
Explaining that both Turkey’s and the TRNC’s position on this issue was clear, the Prime Minister claimed that there reaction was a just and legitimate one.

“No one can claim sole right over these resources. Turkish Cypriots have an equal sovereign right to any oil to be discovered off the coast of Cyprus” he said, adding that Turkey too had rights stemming from its close proximity to the island.
He said that such announcements ahead of the negotiations scheduled to being on the 3rd of September were aimed at sabotaging the process.

News..........The news from Northern Cyprus ..........News ..............

The Presidential spokesperson has said that Russia should review its attitude towards the Cyprus issue in the light of the latest developments in the Caucasus.

Speaking at his weekly press briefing, Hasan Ercakica said that no nation can be forced to live under the rule of another state or regime while responding to a question on possible effects of the latest developments in the Caucasus.
Mr Ercakica said that the developments will surely have some effects on the international law from the point of view that the borders of a state cannot be changed, adding that the Greek Cypriot Side should learn lessons from this situation.

Expressing the view that the developments in Caucasus have revealed the contradicting elements in Russia’s policy, he said that Moscow should stop acting as a militant for Greek Cypriots while changing its policy towards the Cyprus issue.

`Otherwise, it will not be easy for Russia – which is a permanent member of the UN Security Council – to get rid of the double-standards` he warned.

Referring to next Wednesday’s meeting between President Talat and Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias, the spokesperson said preparations for the meeting have been continuing since Monday.
He stated that there is a common understanding for the time being that the talks should start with discussions on administration and power sharing.
