The main ruling Republican Turkish Party-CTP has launched a series of visits to civil society organizations with the aim of exchanging views ahead of comprehensive negotiations on the 3rd of September.
As part of its contacts, officials from the CTP visited the Revolutionary Workers’ Trade Union Federation-DEV-IS today.
Speaking during the visit, the CTP’s Organization Secretary Ozkan Yorgancioglu pointed out that comprehensive negotiations scheduled to begin on the 3rd of September was of great importance for the Turkish Cypriot people.
He said that his party had organized visits in order to listen to what people and civil society organizations had to say about the process.
For his part, the leader of the Revolutionary Trade Unions Federation Mehmet Seyis underlined the need for all segments of Turkish Cypriot society to focus on the Cyprus Problem and for pro-solution forces to gather ahead of a settlement.
SOYER, AVCI AND MURAT WILL HOLD INSPECTIONS IN PILE(PYLA) AMID THIS WEEK’S VANDALISM
Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Deputy Prime Minister-Foreign Minister Turgay Avci and the Minister of Interior Ozkan Murat will hold an inspection tour in the mixed village of Pile this afternoon.
The inspection visit comes amid recent vandalism in the village where some Turkish Cypriot properties and the bust of Ataturk at the Turkish Cypriot primary school faced some destruction.
Those responsible for the attacks remain unknown so far.
Meanwhile, political parties and civil society organizations continue their condemnation over the incident.
Recently, the National Unity Party said in a written statement that the recent development in Pile is proof of the well-known Greek Cypriot approach and that it should not be taken up as just a provocation.
The UBP statement made the claim that the incident proved the dangers of the concepts of ‘common living’ and ‘a united Cyprus’, adding that the Pile incident has been a good example to the significance of bi-zonality.
I always knew that these guys do not have a real job to do, despite their very important titles.
Come on, they are going to investigate themselves by going down there as to who vandalised some cars that are regisstered to TC's in Pile.
This has to be the joke of the year, surely.
But wait, because there are more absurdity to the above story as written below.
The UBP statement made the claim that the incident proved the dangers of the concepts of ‘common living’ and ‘a united Cyprus’, adding that the Pile incident has been a good example to the significance of bi-zonality.
So I take it there are no incidences in the north between the TC's and the settlers, not even cars vandalised, or fightings, injuries, rapes, roberries, insults and just plain disdain for each other, enough to not wanting to eat in each others restaurants, and even get funny looks if one happens to speak with a TC accent. I don't hear any of these leaders asking for a bi-zonality to keep the TC's and settlers apart, do you.??
I swear, I don't know how the TC's put up with these bunch of incompetent so called leaders, who are absorbed in their own self importance. They are a joke, and those are the facts.! I would like to see what kinds of jobs these jokers will be doing if a settlement is reached, since most of their positions will be terminated.
