what is so speacial at south ?

all shops are open in august at north . only we have summer times .

shops are opens from 08:00 - 13:00

from 13:00 to 16:00 some shops are closed .from 16:00 to 20:00 they opens again but at touristic places shops are opened all day .

Life is obviously more relaxed down here.

hi Tim ,
as u know we are all relaxed in Cyprus but how about visitors . Limassol is touristic place . Tourist wants service and entertainment .

out side is very hot but we are working under the cooling systems . in half a hour time my duty will end as soon as i get out from my room i will get shock from the hot climate . till aircondition cools my car i will sweat .
in 20 munites i will have at home to have my lunch .
watermelon (cold) , hellim and bread thats all .... after 20 munites have a sleep up to six . lots of weddings to go tonight ....

you see my friend Cypriot living . cool and relaxed .... Life is too short Tim.

Limassol is a huge place. In the tourist area, everything continues as normal throughout July. A lot of things close in the area of town that deals mainly with local people, though.

8) Around August the bloody nicoseans descend on this part of the world...and before you jump on me it was a comment from one of my cypriot neighbours!
Seems the nics are not appreciated around here when they show up!
I have to say of the two lots that turn up at our block that i have had contact with one lot were ignorant and thought they could take over the street and make as much noise as they liked.... and the other lot turned up and introduced themselves, but turned out to be inconsistant with the truth..... :?
Are all nicoseans like this, sligtly "üp themselves"? Ive never been to murder mile as Elvis Costello put it, and to be honest i dont think ive missed much if this lot are a cross section....

In general terms there is an arrogance there. I believe in stems from city living and a slightly larger salary than the majority of Cypriots. Saying that we have two young families that stay in the village for two weeks at the end of July, they are friendly enough, but can be a little dismisive of the locals.
