How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Or it may be used intentionally (unfortunately is understood wrong) to specify that there are two different decision making mechanisms one in TRNC and one in Turkey, and Turkey does not call the shots in Cyprus and everything done is decided after mutual consensus.

I beg to differ on this opinion, because turkey gives all these handouts to the TRNC to support the regime and pay the civil servants it has in the last so many years demanded and we have obliged that at least 40% of all civil service jobs go to settlers, they do have a very big impact on us wether we like it or not.

'and we have obliged that at least 40% of all civil service jobs go to settlers'

Where did you get this 40% number from, I dont remember reading anything about this. Nevertheless, what is your alternative to not hiring them? Accept money from turkey, spend it all, and have every single one of our lazy butts retire at 41 as we were doing till a short while ago, and at the end of the day not hire one settler? Ofcourse you never mentioned that you viewed this negativley, but the vibes i was getting is that you do view it negativley.

Turkcyp, quite rightly said 'to specify that there are two different decision making mechanisms one in TRNC and one in Turkey, and Turkey does not call the shots in Cyprus and everything done is decided after mutual consensus.' Everything regarding the cyprus problem is done in mutual consesus. Accepting to have an american base in Cyprus has everything to do with the cyprus problem. FUrthermore, from the moment a country gives you money, and note here the word GIVES,not loans but gives, ( infact turkey does far more than that to us but i will again leave that for later) its rather naive not to expect to have to give something back in return. Japan and Kenya are the best example for this.

Turkkan,
obviously, we GCs only know about the TRNC-Turkey relationship what our sources tell us; and it's not a good picture. On the other hand, I've seen Insan claim that the RoC-Greece relationship is actually a much deeper one, aiming at some secret long-term goal of 'Enosis' of some sort (a false conclusion, imo). Obviously, both of these pictures do not reflect (absolutely) reality, and I would be very interested to find out from a source more credible than our Press, TV channels and our Government Spokesdude about this relationship.
It could be, that Insan carries the same misconception that we (GCs) do, only in reverse.
Could you elaborate on the above quote?

jimmy, when in 63 you refused to give us food or pay our salaries there was a ship waiting every month in cyprus from turkey bring us essential supplies, and they placed once a month money in your banks money in our accounts so that we could at least have a few pennies to eat. Since then turkey has lost hundreds of soldiers so that we can never have to face such a situation again. Added to this it is spending several billion every year on cyprus, it is providing us defense for free, education for free, and on top of that its about to torpedo its european accession for us. It has done plenty. But ofcourse 'brother' here likes to point that turkey expects us to hire settlers as 40% of the civil service ( he has not told us where he got that figure from yet but im sure at one point he will) and likes to make canny remarks every now and then about turkeys policy in cyprus. That is what i meant with the above post.
