Is UBP losing the plot?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Is UBP losing the plot?

Postby Kifeas » Thu Jul 10, 2008 1:58 pm

I had to laugh when I red this report from "Toplum Postası."

http://www.toplumpostasi.net/index.php/ ... in_ENGLISH

Visiting the European Parliament (EP) in Brussels last week, the Chairman of the National Unity Party (UBP) Tahsin Ertugruloglu discussed the Cyprus issue with fifteen EP deputies. Echoeing his long term support for TRNC recognition, Mr. Ertugruloglu stated that there is a stance in the EP which denies the existence of the TRNC. But then Mr. Ertugruloglu noted that after the entry of the Republic of Cyprus into the European Union (EU) in 2004 the Turkish language should become one of the EU official languages. Defending the rights of Turkish Cypriots as Republic of Cyprus – EU citizens, Mr Ertugruolglu who has long de-recognised and demoted as a Greek Cypriot state, demanded that the two seats of the Republic of Cyprus in the EP should be distributed to the Turkish Cypriots. Demanding citizenship rights from a state he does not recognize, Tahsin Ertugruloglu stated that in order for Turkish to be an EU language, one of the member states should submit a formal request to the EU, as this is foreseen by EU law. He recommended that the Republic of Cyprus should submit such a request.

I wonder how more ridiculous to Mr. Taxim Ertugruloglu and to all those sharing his views, can someone possibly ever become? He indeed lost the plot!

So get real if UBP ever get back in you can kiss any negotiations goodbye, your only chance is with President Talat and Prime Minister Soyer.

Often in the past I have noted taht Cypriots, from all communities, have a keen eye on the plum public sector jobs. A seat in the European parliament is about the plummets job you can get. There is a fat paychekc very month, generous travel and administrative allowances and a big fat pension after you conclude your term. No wonder the man wants part of the pie. Asking for the language thing was his way of adding a patriotic veneer to a typically Cypriot request to "take care" of him. I am sure he would jump at the chance to have a seat in the European parliament even if they only allowed him to use sign language. So would most Cypriots by the way.

I wonder what the translation in Turkish is for the word "thesi", a position in the civil service. We managed to reduce it to one word full of meaning!

Kifeas,

this may sound funny to you, me and any other logical thinking GC, but Bananiot would give it to them on a silver platter. He will be happy to assist and to give them all that they request. He is indeed a danger to the cause, I am ashamed that he even considers himself a GC.

The previous Government must have really pissed him off big time, he didn't get the promotion he was promised so now his mission is to F**k the RoC for what it has done to him. I wonder what subsidy he is getting from Halil and his cronnies   I can't think what what other reason he says what he says.

But sure is funny

Halil,

if this is the measure of your trust and goodwill, you can stick it up where the sun don't shine.

Cyprus Archbishop protests entrance fee in Apostolos Andreas monastery

09/07/2008

Archbishop of the Church of Cyprus Chrysostomos II has described as unacceptable the demand of the Turkish occupation authorities to oblige pilgrims to the Apostolos Andreas (Saint Andrew) monastery in the occupied areas to pay an entrance fee in order to visit the site, noting that the Church would be protesting to the UN and Europe.

Speaking at Larnaca Airport before departing for Athens, the Archbishop said that ''unfortunately things at the Apostolos Andreas monastery are becoming harder,'' adding that on Tuesday the Bishop of Karpasia visited the monastery in view of restoration works and was requested to pay an entrance fee of one euro.

This is the trust, goodwill that you are offering, f**k you and Your bumchum bananiot. I would like to know what he has to say on this matter, I am guessing he is giving it his full blessing no doubt!
