Entrance fee to worship at Apostolos Andreas

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

"I am a Turkish Cypriot and very proud of it, our isolation has been effective since 1963 so 1974 was the start as you have been told. The charge is not unusual and can be found all around the world, dont forget 37% of Cyprus is under our control so when you visit you have to abide by our laws and rules if you dont like it dont come simple as that really, you cannot push us around like you did in the past. "

Only one word can describe you VP - MORON!

i don't agree with charging a fee to enter religious places. the renovation should be paid for by the church, not the visitors.

Your are full of shit! I have traveled around Europe and the Middle East and have not been to a single place of worship where they charge entry fees. You are confusing places of worship with monuments and deliberately so.

I have been to the Vatican, Lourdes, Westminster Abbey, Saint Pauls, and even small churches like Sainte Marie de la Mer which open for a few days a year specifically for a local fair and there no fees anywhere. I am not religious, I was accompanying others who are.

Under all the rhetoric there is that hand stretched out for money, Sener Levent put it very nicely when he said it is the mentality of the pezevengis.

VP tried to excuse the murderers of Isaak and Solomou and his tc compatriots on this forum told him it was inexcusable.
VP is trying to excuse charging us a fee to worship our holiest site on the island and his tc's compatriots tell him its inexcusable

And still vp believes he speaks for the majority of tcs. What he does speak for are the people in power who authorised these actions.

I never excused the killings of those 2 GCs, thats what you want to think so its irrelevent what I say it wont chnage your preconditioned brain. With regards to the charge arent you all blowing things out of proportion, its only 1 Euro if you like we will pay it for you so you can go worship, think of it as a donation for the places upkeep.

VP

Yes I have been to the Sistine Chapel, and did not pay when I was there. If you pay now I do not know, but the comparison is unfortunate. Compare it to entering Saint Peter's church in the Vatican and not some unique artistic work like the Capella Sistina. Being aske to pay to enter Saint Peter's would be totally unthinkable, as would be any payment to enter the Teke at Larnaca or Westminster Abbey in London.

IF there is ONE thing we all might be able to agree on, after reading the postings on this forum . . . . , ,
I see no evidence for talking about "these Turks" "these Greeks" "these TC's", these GC's etc tc"
None of you can agree with any of you . . its quite wonderful, really, but does cause difficulties!! :( :( :? :? :?
