I thought Mouflons were all in captivity now? My son and I saw them in the Troodos 5 yrs ago, but that was a huge fenced sanctuary.

I am going to see it again, on my Birthday, at Paphos Harbour - I shall be the one wearing a brown paper bag over my head to avoid embarrassment a second time.

Why did I cry? I suppose because I find the sight and sound of opera very moving and just get involved. (Putting 'skin into the game' to use a horrible Amercan expresssion!)

I think it relieves strong emotion.

Lana, you have a heart and good taste.

There were tears in my eyes yesterday morning. Ok, I cried. I am not saying why. Too much info.
:(

Hi O. I went to your co-ordinates and ended up between Ay.yiorgi and Spilla in the Troodos mountains. I hoped it would lead me to your home address. Perhaps that is the place which is close to your heart where you met your Cypriote Mouflon? That also brings me to tears as I have never seen one. The only true Cypriots I have seen in great numbers are the ones on the Karpasia peninsula.

Two Mouflon strode by in front of our car (near those co-ordinates) last time hubby was over.

Do you want precise co-ordinates  ... I do not have a GPS / Sat Nav ... and all my Navigational Maps are back in the UK!

Google earth is so good, your co-ordinates will pinpoint your kitchen. I can keep an eye on your fat chips. ( I still dont know what the joke is about fat chips - but I'll be damned if I go to CL and look.)

No these were definitely free to roam. They took us by surprise (so no camera at the ready), although we were driving really slowly because the dirt track was in a most magical place. It was so green, the stream was flowing and everything was lush and overgrown. I am sure not another car would have passed that way for weeks.

I wouldn't be able to find it again without Hubby's superior directional antennae .... but I wonder if there is an active ongoing programme to re-introduce them to the wild?

I cry at so many things, I'm useless!

When daughters do nice things or things that make me proud, sad films, happy films, any kind of emotional display, other people crying, thoughts of previous emotional times.....

It's since I had children, I was normal before then.

Maybe Oracle, and its not being "advertised" for obvious (macho gun slingers come to mind) reasons - how wonderful it would be to come across these magnificent beasts in the wild, after all they are not found anywhere else in the world! Lucky you!!!!

In Sfakia in Crete, there is an indigenous mountain goat called "kri kri" or agrimi (or something similar . memory failing me.) Quite rare now. They can sometimes be seen, outlined on a craggy peak. Wonder if they are at all similar to the moufflon?

They looked young, and it was spring, so I really hope they were a mating couple .....

I can still see their eyes staring at us for the few moments they stopped, startled, before bounding off. It is a nice feeling to recall, and a good antidote to the blues

i cry almost every day. i didn't cry yesterday, but i cried the day before, because a dog i am taking care of is in the process of dying. the owner has the appointment to put him to sleep on tuesday, i am not sure he will make it until then. he has been a good friend, i love all the pets i care for, and i really weep when i lose one.
oh, just thinking about it now is making my eyes get wet......
