HRISTOFYAS FEDERATION IN CYPRUS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

HRISTOFYAS FEDERATION IN CYPRUS

Postby soyer » Wed Jul 09, 2008 9:24 pm

HRISTOFYAS “IT’S TIME TO ADMIT TO HEAR THE WORD ‘FEDERATION’ IN CYPRUS”

Leader of Greek Cypriot Administration Dimitris Hristofyas stated that that it was time for them to get used to hear the word “federation” in Cyprus.

Hristofyas, who defined the meaning of federation, said “Federation is two provinces which are bi-communal and bi-zonal. Two provinces which have equal status and equal powers. The state should be united, economy should be united. This will be provided by the federal government, central government and central federal constitution. He added:”I want to believe that one day we will understand this”.

Hristofyas added the following on political equality:

“Beside the government and the political parties of the government, the political parties should also take on their responsibilities. While we are discussing bi-communal and bi-zonal federation, we have to discuss the unitary state at the end. There will be either a unitary state or a federal state. Both of the communities and both of the sides will be the members of this federation, you can call it either side or state or province, and it will be administrated with the same responsibility and powers”.

Christofias never said in his interview that the two provinces or states in the federation should also be purely mono-communally based, as if the term bi-zonal is identical, or is identified, or is interchangeable with the term bi-communal. He only said the solution will be one of a bi-zonal and a bi-communal federation, meaning that the two terms (zones and communities) represent two different types of entities or concepts. If it was a case in which we would assume that each of the two zones belongs only to one of each of the two communities, then why should we accept that the "TC" zone should have anything more than 18% of the territory? We accepted a higher percentage of territory for the smaller state, simply because it won't be an exclusively "TC" zone, but GCs will also be able to inhabit this ("TC") zone, with full residency (state) based political, cultural and of course human rights, from within that state. If Christofias means or is willing to accept anything contrary to this idea or approach, then he will rightfully be regarded as the biggest traitor of the GC community in all of our history.

Soyer, besides throwing empty slogans and copy /paste others' ideas in the forums, what else are you able to do or say? Not much it seems, for your empty headedness shines from miles away!
