Conspiracy Theories.

Heard any good ones lately..?

One of my favourites which was doing the rounds with some of the locals here in cyprus concerned the earthquake in the Indian ocean in 2004.

The USA and the UK jointly detonated a large nuclear bomb on the sea bed resulting in the earthquake.....because countries in that region were not buying their weapons from them.

Those dastardly western devils...!

I heard a good one on this forum. Gavcar told me that the EU is secretly being run by the Vatican who aim to take over the world and they're using Fox News, Wikipedia and YouTube to spread their lies!

connor how do you define a Conspiracy Theory? Say for example that you were conned by some developer but the developer denies that he did somehting illegal. If you don't win the case in court will it make everything you said just conspiracy theory? Maybe some governments deny some things and with governments you can not even send them to court many times! But this doesn't mean that when those governments deny something it means they are saying the truth.

I think i would venture to suggest that a conspiracy theory...As the name suggests...is just a theory which has not or cannot be proven.

Why should something be simple when you can conjure up a nice complicated conspiracy to explain it.

We are very good at this in Cyprus.

Whatever goes wrong here, from a flat tyre to an invasion, I blame on the Americans and the Brits. Some people believe me!
