Thanks, don't often get worked up, but having a dog designed for an Arctic environment in a place where for half the year it's 30+ is just idiotic. I'm reticent enough about taking my little Westie (designed for Scottish winters) over in a few years and realise that we'll have to keep her coat more closely cropped than we would over here, but having a husky simply as a status symbol is as cruel as beating the crap out of it.
Having spent some time in central Canada where plenty of people have huskies as pets I understand the environment they thrive in. Apparently huskies can overheat when running in temperatures of -30, so just imagine the hell they go through every summer in Cyprus...
