Hey, if all those ADORABLE grandchildren come, there'll be no need for walls, or the UN!! We'll all be drooling and full of bonhomie (not to mention vsop)

Now, why on earth can't it JUST BE LIKE THAT?

What a lovely age, CC. I bet she is bilingual too. Having children, when you move to a new place, helps open doors and to integrate with the local community, I always found.

You are in for some GREAT times ahead (ok, a few pesky ones too, probably). Do you cook/bake/garden together?"

Yes, we do !! I promised her that when she reached her 10th Birthday that we would start cooking together, she has her own apron, which is a professional one.

She is not into gardens though, well not yet anyway, we do have a lot of animals though, Pygmy Goats, Ducks ,Hens, Cats, and a dog. And that keeps her and I pretty busy !!

My daughter speaks fluent French, a smattering of Greek, only about a dozen words that she remembers from Cyprus, and is learning Spanish as part of her curriculem at school

The people where we are love kids, some friends visited us a few weeks ago, they have a little girl, the local auberge would not charge them for her meal and made a huge fuss over her.

My daughter (18) loves cooking, and has very mediterranean/Turkish tastes. She catered her whole 18th birthday dinner party recently, dark red satin sheets on the floor, big cushions strewn everywhere . . I tried to prepare her . .and, as I thought might happen, her stolidly kiwi-friends were not very impressed!! I wanted to cry with her afterwards, but of course had to be matter-of-fact and let her see it was no big deal (in the great scheme of things). The food really was good though.

One thing I wasn't prepared for , when I became a mother, was just how partisan one DOES feel deep down, and how one could easily turn into the mother from hell . . if one were disposed that way. I am not like that, at all, but the those ignoble feelings were supressed with quite a sense of shock!
