There is a big paradox in Cyprus. The Turks say that they can not live with Cypriots and they want to be separate but they keep importing more and more of their kind in Cyprus! They started this in 1571 and they keep bringing more and more of them from Turkey! If Turks can not live with Cypriots then why did they come to Cyprus? Why do they keep coming more and more of them in Cyprus? They say they can not live with Cypriots but they bring 10s of thousands of their settlers IN Cyprus!?!?! If they can't live with Cypriots then shouldn't they move OUT of Cyprus instead of moving illegally even more of their kind IN Cyprus?? Why don't they move OUT so they can be separate from us as they want and so we can have peace on our island? Is the ferry ticket moving OUT more expensive than the one for moving IN? Those that can not see that the Cyprus Problem is the Turkish expansionism against Cyprus are blind or Turks!

I thought that the government was cracking down on Turkish immigrants? Its getting harder and harder to get work permits and those who are employed have to return to Turkey if their job finishes (and their families).

You are avoiding the issue! The issue is the Turkish expansionism of Turks against Cyprus! I quote something that Halil posted.

After the conquer of Cyprus in 1571, Ottoman administration sent some people to the island as a fact of their settlement policy. There were two waves of people settlement to Cyprus. The first one was, from 1572 to the end of the XVI. century and the second, was from 1699 to 1745. The main paper about this settlement is a ferman of Sultan Selim the Second, which was written 20th September 1572. In this ferman it was ordered to the governors of Anatolia, Karamania, Zulkadiria and Rum provinces to select the people whom didn’t have enough land to make agriculture, wasn’t registered in a village population, who was known as a rebel (Turkmen population of those provinces was described with all of these criterias) and beside them ten percent of the industrial people; for sending Cyprus, by force.

It is a well-established fact that the demographic structure of the island has been continuously modified since the de facto partition of the island in 1974 as a result of the deliberate policies of the Turkish Cypriot administration and Turkey. According to reliable estimates, their number currently amounts to 115 000... The settlers come mainly from the region of Anatolia, one of the less developed regions in Turkey.

AGAIN Turkey is taking 1000s of their underdeveloped people and is sending them to our island to give to them OUR land. And then when they keep sending many thousands of Turks to Cyprus they come and say "We can not live together with you. We have to be separate" Why do you keep bringing more Turks in Cyprus if you can not live togehter with Cypriots then????? The Cyprus Problem is the TURKISH EXPANSIONISM AGAINST CYPRUS. They keep sending Turks to our island and give to them the land they stole from us by force to push Cypriots away and take our island from us!

turkey is a massive country,why would it not have enough farming land? in 1974 my understanding was that turkey sent people to cyprus to help rebuild the north. the north had a skills shortage and a manpower shortage.

What skills??? They send massive amounts of poor unskilled uneducated people and they gave to them OUR land!! EXPANSIONISM is the answer AGAIN and is so clear that any excuse sounds like a bad joke!

I posted that before I was aware of GRs demise. We all know can be a great wit and a debater. I admit that. It does not make me double faced. Human are multi faceted or multi talented. I refered to on of his talents. Simple. Think before you comment.
