Some of the famous people that have stayed at the Forest Park , apart from yours truly !!, include the ex King of Greece Konstantinos , King Farouk of Egypt , the late Indian Prim Minister Indira Gandhi , Kojak himself , Telly Savalas , two of our ex Cypriot Presidents and last but not least Archbishop Makarios .
Worth a stay any time .

have you stayed at the Forest Park? If so when

Most of the persons you listed were around a good few years ago

Unless its vastly improved over the last couple of years I certainly wouldnt reccommend it!

Lovely location and very pretty (superficially only)

I worked there a few years back and although it looks nice on the surface.. well shall I just say if you dig a little deeper then its not so good
Don't really want to say anymore

Saying that the barman was from Serbia, and he could twirl a bottle on one finger...
I don't like Rod Stewart either, by the way is his throat better now ?

Purdey , some of my life's most electrifyingly and massively enjoyable times have been with only one person , a bottle , Nina in the backround and me . The earth shook and the atmosphere was pure magic, as they say two is company 3 is a crowd.

Richard, although it has seen better days it still has the draw. Every time I go I always see the owner who is very hands on. I get the same stories but they always keep me interested, very old school and a gentleman ta boot.

Well we all have our own favourites purdey life would be boring if we all agreed

But this thread has set me thinking and the mountains would make a great romantic break for a couple celebrating their anniversary or what ever

I've only visited for a drink but the Churchill pinewood valley could be another great location (midway Prodromos-Pedoulas) looked very claen and a nice atmosphere ...lots of nice walks and a couple of Tavernas nearby

I have never been to the Churhill. I will make a note, I agree the mountains would be lovely, fresh air, bird song,(before the hunting season) perfect.

8)
i was at the annasa 2months ago visiting my nephew who was staying there. and as has been mentioned i found the atmosphere quite sterile..great place and views ...but sterile.
Im always amazed when holiday programmes (and some individuals) go to a place and trot out a list of Celebrities who have been there...pray tell how will that enhance my holiday? how much better will my holiday be because i have this information? And so what? its a sure bet they wont be there when im there  do they think that because they tell me a homosexual piano player from watford once stayed there i will rush out and book a holiday on the strength of it? Poppycock sir, Poppycock! :x

I stayed at the FP a few times , the last being about 3 years ago. It has been somehow " modernised " with a new wing added to the main Hotel.
Its a 4 star hotel but you have to bear in mind that Platres does not have anything higher than that. I agree is somehow "dated" but the location makes up for it.
My mother was born in Platres so I guess the location of the hotel is more important to me than the actual amenities provided. I love the place and will most certainly stay there again, here is a photo taken when I stayed there with my family.

I agree the location is fantastic. We lived in Platres for a couple of years when we first got married and I do understand the sentimental pull of the place as we still always have to have a ride down there when we are in Lemythou. (now theres not many ride down to Platres)

I know it is clased as 4* but in my opinion its not that good

As I said to purdey each to his/her own
