Beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder.
Couldn't possibly agree with any of Gav's choices though.
I don't think you can ever make a judgement from a snapshot anyway.
I once travelled through France, Germany and Italy and saw some amazing sights.
The Peak District and Cotswolds in the UK are beautiful.
I can understand why people love their own country but couldn't describe anything I've seen in Cyprus as beautiful.I love the view down to Aswan in Egypt from the Aga Khan Mausoleum, love the game reserves in Kenya and the rain forests in Borneo but couldn't describe them as beautiful.

i agree with you there. cyprus was nice, but beuatiful? no.

YO! Kurupetos,

I didn't stay, it only took 20 minutes to walk around the whole of Mablethorpe, but my mate reckons Viz magazine got into trouble for starting a campaign saying 'come to Mablethorpe 'cos Skegness is shite'.

I'm pretty sure Ingoldmills is famous for having the flagship Butlin's holiday camp. Surely that's enough to scare anyone away (unless you like knobbly knees competitions etc).

All sorts of places are beautiful for many reasons, depending on whom you are with, stage of life etc.

But the most memorable for me has to be a three day trek to the top of Mount Toubkal in the High Atlas Range of Morocco. The view from the top, with snow and extreme clear sunshine has got to be the greatest sensation ever .... 8)

.... and it wasn't just because I was the first to reach the peak, ahead of the guide

Spent a few days in Ouassazat in that region many years ago.

Spent an idyllic summer on the island of Bornholm once. Danish territory, in the Baltic, north of Poland, east of Southern Sweden. Truly pastoral and Bergmanesque!
