Hello again Zimbo, are you stalking me? I was over last October and i was shocked! We were looking to move to Cyprus but i'm not so sure now? Its a beautiful Island with friendly people, i've heard so many negative stories recently but am trying hard not to be put off. The prices will have to fall surely? What are your views on Cyprus?

Prices will NOT fall , might come under necessary corrections as they do elsewhere , but prices this year are lower than what they will be in the year 2010 .
The same applies to UK house prices , have seen too many adjustments to know that what you purchase today in a couple or so years will be worth more.

Pantheman i don't know where your living but the last time i was in Cyprus it looked more like Lebanon with all the empty shells, but hey it must be paradise in your world "Cuckoo Land"! You say i'm talking out of my arse but yours must take some wiping! :-)

Hi. Lol! First, take no notice of Purdey! My first trip to Cyprus was good with a view to buying. We did buy (greedy by Purdey's remarks), and go back twice a year for a holiday. Each time we go back, the dream of living there fades, the novelty has worn off, and I've seen the reality. I do think prices will go down but it may be a slow process. We bought in a village, very traditional and charming. This was over 2 years ago. Now, this village has lost its persona - e.g. the main street has a few taverns, one of which overlooked a church which was lit up at night. A lovely scene. 'They' have knocked down the oldest building in the village and have replaced it with a concrete monstrosity which now blocks out the church view! And on it goes! This forum is not the best place to discuss the issue as the locals throw their toys out. Hundreds of Brits like it there and a lot do not and want to leave. It depends what you are looking for really and what you want out of life. Good luck.

No, not from me, I am not in the know to offer advise, especially on new property.
Unless you are in the market for a fine English shotgun.
