No more "naughty but nice cakes" then, CC?

Of course Perdike, the difference being is that I have the pleasure of making them. Only for friends and family of course. I love to see people enjoying the cakes I make lovingly by hand. using the eggs from my own hens and ducks.

Mmm, yes, I'm like you. Do all my own baking and breadmaking etc. But your eggs will be better than mine, raising your own. I buy organic, but they stay"fresh" for so long I have my doubts that they are 100% kosher. Ought to be, for the price I pay. Butter, here in the home of the moo, has reached astronomical prices. Apparently you can buy NZ butter cheaper in the UK than we do here in our supermarkets. Crazy world.

The Eggs I collect twice a day, those I do not need I offer to friends and people I know, I buy my stuff as local as I can, I grow Tomatoes for home use Peppers, ( Onions were a flop mind you) .

I have an English clientelle who order English Christms cakes and Puddings. Really nice as people come back time and time again.

The trouble with my baking is that I am occasionally a bit experimental, and hence not consistent. As my son once said to his Greek family, "Mum would be a good cook, if only she stuck to the recipes". Didn't do my reputation much good.

At least I know what goes into my baking, though.

I am rubbish at baking but my 14 year old daughter is brilliant! Bless her she's always roped in to do one of her cakes.

I am getting good at many of the Cypriot dishes although I hate sticking to recipes as well. May be something to do with the fact I always have a glass of wine when cooking so it becomes more 'creative' as time goes on. :D
