SINGLE SOVEREIGNTY AND SINGLE CITIZENSHIP

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

SINGLE SOVEREIGNTY AND SINGLE CITIZENSHIP

Postby soyer » Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:17 am

President Mehmet Ali Talat said: “If we desire a solution in Cyprus, and if there shall be a united Cyprus than surely there shall be single sovereignty and single citizenship”.

Talat added sovereignty in this new state was going to be exercised by Turkish and Greek Cypriots as two equal political partners, and that the Turkish Cypriots were not going to be a minority.

Did you also read tha last sentence of the article where he said that Christofias was lying? Surely for someone who is going for unification the wording plays an important role in stereotyping the other.

None the less very admirable statement. Well done Mr Talat

Mr Talat needs to mind his tongue, any more talk like that and I think mama Turkey is gonna make him disappear

I think he took a flyer on that one, either that or a complete and utter fuck up. Turkey certainly didn't sanction that. Poor sod, I do feel for him now.

Anyway time till tell. 8)

Pantheman, what you think about "Turkish and Greek Cypriots as two equal political partners" bit of the statement :?:

I think their is some contradiction between "single sovereignty and single citizenship" and "two equal partners". The first one suggests unification where the latter suggests division! Conclusion: wtf? :? :x
