They intervened and are still awaiting for us to agree a solution, that's why they are still here once we agree a way forward is the time they will leave otherwise with our track record looks like they are to stay for a long time to come.

I come back to my original point. There is no gunfire, therefore there is no need for them to be here. The civilians ought to be allowed to return to their homes. Perhaps we can settle for the "trnc" to comprise all the TC villages and own those lands to be rulled by your leader whilst the rest of us get on with building a nation.

They invaded and occupied land when they should have concentrated on a regime change
They murdered and raped civilians when the treaty called for this country to protect them.
They compromised the single sovereignty of the land when they signed a treaty to protect it.
They declared a separate entity contrary to the 1960 constitution of which they hold as reason for their invasion.

Where in the treaty of guarantee does it give Turkey the right to murder civilians, occupy their land, jeopardise and compromise the sovereignty of the country by declaring a separate regime?

Do you honestly keep a straight face when you post this garbage?

There is a high risk of gunfire if they leave, they have maintained the peace for over 34 years by stopping the GCs from doing anything silly, agree a solution and they will leave.

How do you keep a straight face for all your crimes against TCs and Turks, your own actions also contributed to the division we have today neither side is innocent, we fought for survival and not to be forced into becoming part of Greece and we will do the same if need be, you were the aggressors after declaration of independence, think about it for a minute then respond, your enosis dream ruined everything and today we all pay the price.

...that "dream" (enosis) evolved and changed, now it has been realised, and for a betterment from which we all can enjoy (we are united within the EU).

Yet the idea of dividing the island, is not unlike other countries (and their people) that were torn apart by the same system of Interlocutors in the first half of the last century. Takism is still alive today, and in this regard it has been an idea that Turkey has held to regarding Cyprus, since the Treaty of Lausanne. Like in all things with Turkey, and Cyprus, that Treaty was signed under a duress, and in this sense, since then, the recognition of a body of people like "Cypriots" is anathema to a design where it is no longer a possesion and/or subject to her will.

You VP, support things just as they are. This is not constructive, nor is it Justice seen. The "border" which rips us apart is only demilitarised if it does not exist. The Rights of the Displaced can be demonstrated, both "Turkish" and "Greek". The many frontiers of a Bizonal State serves Individuals as Persons, but the isloation that is between us is removed. Enclaves serve us, in this sense, without the fear, when they are used by both communities as a means to diversify their own collectivity.

Im sorry I just cant agree as living in an enclave or whatever name you give it surrounded by GCs who at anytime can easily close all roads and links into this area, manipulate and exploit people who reside there is not for me, it reflects to much of the past.

The USA is a federation with borders, why cant you understand that we want the choice to either live amongst TCs or if we wish go live in the south state where we will accept that the majority of people will be GCs. We have tried a unitary state it did not work, the only thing that appears to have worked for 34 years is division with heavy deterrents so no one repeats the stupidity of the past. The best we can hope for is a relaxation of those heavy safeguards and compensation for those that have lost property with some repatriation. Your dream will never come true as I don't know about GCs but TCs will never be forced in ghettos or enclaves areas ever again.

until all parties involved admit their part of the blame, how can there ever be a solution. it wasn't just turkey and greece but also the uk.along with the tc and gc people. if only everyone could move on, a little forgiveness would go a long way. my question is ,do you still want to be in this situation 30 years from now?

...VP can you imagine what would happen if "Greeks" closed a "Turkish" enclave? ...what would happen in the "Greek" enclaves in the north? Perhaps we should ask what the Federal Government would do about it, (bicommunal; three governing bodies)?

You may live anywhere you choose, in a Cypriot Unified State. With enclaves you have more choices. And, you personally, may remain unaffected by the Solution, which will require some displacement for thousands, in any case. For a Settler, the chance to have a Home, is very appealing, compared to having a House. The Right to Return as a community for some at least, is a fair vindication at this point, for those who have already been Displaced. Not withstanding the Individual Rights of all Displaced, which as yet remains unaddressed.

Most importantly, to me, our Heritance, the great collection of 'living' relics we have can be saved, sustained and prospered, which is important to all Mankind.

Here is give and take. Here is confidence building. Here is a sacrafice for something better.

roseandchan, will you give me your support?
