You could try some of the tips the Environment Agency gives for water conservation:

http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/waterres/287169/287245/?version=1&lang=_e

There's a few more sections than the link above so have a look around their site. These are aimed at saving water in the home for environmental reasons, but the principle is the same.

1. DON'T plant UK-style garden, or try to grow thirsty plants - RHS website will have some advice.
2. Look on the web for simple technological aids - in-house re-cycler of grey (shower, washing-up, etc) water for flushing loo.
3. If planting trees wait until autumn and then stop watering after 6 weeks: roots will grow down to find own supply and if they can't find one then they're doomed in anycase.
4. Wash-up by hand.

Most modern dishwashers use far less water than washing up by hand and there is nothing to stop you recycling the water from the dishwasher too!

Paliometoxo - "they bringing water from greece so its ok" : its this sort of laissez-faire attitude that has helped to cause the current shortage. EVERYONE - locals, incomers and tourists need to conserve water as a matter of course.
